But tRump knows better than ANYONE about EVERYTHING, even one of the foremost epidemiologists in the world.

America’s top infectious diseases expert was “wrong” to suggest the US has seen a rise in coronavirus infections because its lockdown was not strict enough, President Donald Trump has said.

Dr Anthony Fauci told US Congress that the disparity between the outbreak in the US and those of European countries can be attributed to the extent lockdown measures were introduced.

Fauci said most European countries shut their economies down by 95%, while the US only closed its economy by half.

President Trump disagreed, tweeting: “We have more cases because we have tested far more than any other country.”

Trump has repeatedly claimed the US has the highest number of cases in the world - more than 4.6 million as it stands - because of its testing regime.

The US has carried out more than 56 million coronavirus tests to date, according to the latest data.

That is more than any other western country, but health experts say the increase in positive cases in recent weeks cannot be attributed to the rise in testing alone.

That cartoon would be hilarious if it weren't so real. I'm learning just now that we need to be wearing goggles and a face shield in addition to a mask. Can Covid get into our ears? Maybe we need earmuffs too. Last night I woke up about 2 a.m. and saw there was some kind of weird house party going on in one of the houses nearby. Huge picture windows I could see there were all kinds of people in that house milling around, dancing. One person was dressed in what looked to be a red devil's costume. Very strange. What about social distancing and wearing masks. The only one wearing a mask at that party was the devil.

So, if you never get tested for covid-19 you'll never be infected. Too bad Herman Cain, and 150,000 other dead people, didn't listen to Trump.

That's a clear violation of the law ........The contact numbers are clearly posted if you see a violation......I hope you did your civic duty.

At the time he accepted the nomination during the Republican National Convention, the Orange Clown boasted = "I alone can fix-it". He claims to know more than the generals and health experts. The Orange Clown is like a drunk uncle at a family gathering. I've never seen anything like it, he lies every time he opens his mouth.

If hydroxychloroquine is the magic cure, why didn't Herman Cain took it the entire month he was in the hospital? Common sense tell us that wearing a mask is a lot cheaper.

In urban hot-spots......including St. Catharines Ontario....contact numbers are posted for reporting violations to the provincial police force......gatherings over 10 people.....social distancing and mask wearing applies everywhere....In my community, though there hasn't been a case here and no cases in neighbouring towns or greater Vancouver Island for weeks.

It is however, tourist season and, although traffic is greatly reduced, we have many visitors. For about a month, we have cautiously instituted family "pods", where a family chooses one other family to socialize with on an unrestricted basis....

The schools will not open in Sept.......Social distancing and mask-wearing applies in all instances and restaurants are only open for take-out. All Canadian borders are closed to US travelers.........We have had to add new personnel to Alaska.

Early on, Americans crossing our Southern border and stated that they were going to Alaska, were let in, but it soon became apparent that they were just saying that to gain entry, so we had to tighten that loop-hole.....Also boat traffic from the US .....It's amazing how many Americans try to sneak in.....you're our Mexico......."bringing disease, bringing crime"........

I had no idea it was illegal to have a house party now. So just because I happened to look out my window in the middle of the night I should call the police? Who would do that?

The reason why we are still talking about this, is because a great majority of people are not following health experts guidelines. Last Friday I learned that one of my co-workers died of COVID-19. She was only 42 years old.

K, I hope you don't mind my saying this but when I saw the photo of you and your co-workers I was worried. I can't imagine you three standing so close together during this deadly pandemic. Here everyone in stores, banks etc., customers and staff, are six feet apart. Stay safe.

I don't think I've seen contact numbers posted anywhere, at least not in Philadelphia. I remember recently reading about a person with New York license plates driving in Toronto, and the police and people in the community looking for him. And to think I was looking forward to visit Toronto, now I have to change my travel plans before the summer is over.

That is ridiculous. Do you think people are supposed to know how many people live in each house in their area? Only nosy weird people spying on all their neighbours with binoculars would know who is a guest and who lives there.

Your comment to me seems to contradict the comment you made to Kofla about his photo......

The contradiction seems obvious.......Kofla and staff should stay safe, but not your neighbours?

I am curious about reporting violations. Do the police actually respond if anyone calls early in the morning, to report a gathering of more than ten people? The reason I am asking, is because back in April when people were looting stores, citizens called the cops and they did not responded. In fact, I spent more than half an hour calling 911 at 3:00 am when looters robbed the computer/cell phone store in front of my apartment. The call went unanswered. The police showed up an hour later, when the looters had emptied the store. My friend, a police officer, told me that the order from the top was, not to get involved.

I wouldn't assume the NYPD and the Ontario Provincial Police would handle things the same way......I also don't know if the Ontario Provincial Police would break up a private party, but they have public notices of regulations and encourage the public to report violations to them, including phone numbers.....

Sparkleflit :
I think that the NYPD and the Philly police handle things a lot differently. In NYC they don't play, and would intervene immediately. Not sure if it had anything to do with the fact that the city is a magnet for terrorism. In Philadelphia, the officers are more laid back, and will not get involved. Maybe that is why the opioid epidemic and petty crime is out of control.

I don't have any info on how Canada law enforcement handle things, so I can only speculate from what I read in the news. Maybe someone from Canada reading this would like to share their experience. .

As I said before, only a weird nosy neighbour with binoculars would even know who lives in each house in their area and how many visitors they have. Personally I woke up, saw there was a party, laughed at the devil costume, and went back to sleep. Maybe someone should call the police on me.
