I loved playing baseball when i was a kid....I hadn't heard of it before we moved to Canada.........We played scrub every morning before school and at lunch. We played in Gym class.....I was on a team in high school and spent a lot of time watching baseball games at our local baseball park......It was a Summer sport though......We were really more of a Basketball town.....hosted huge tournaments and sent teams to play in the big city....

You and Joe could probably swap a lot of stories and statistics.... I swear he is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to baseball. Only problem would be he would have on a Red Sox cap. LOL.
At our wedding reception table, he and his little brother were discussing baseball..... after a while I said, "Nicky, PLEASE. This is our wedding, can't the baseball talk wait?" He laughed and apologized. It wasn't 15 minutes later, they were back at it. I said, "Hey fellas. It's our wedding." Nick laughed, and said, "Sis. Get used to it!"
And I have. Any conversation between Joe and his brothers, son or daughter turns to baseball. It runs in their genes; their dad played minor league and then followed the Red Sox religiously..... and passed it on to his kids and all the grandkids.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I am not a baseball fan. When I was a kid growing up we used to play baseball at the one room country school I went to. But we used a softball. If you were a good player then we would compete against other schools in the area. I don't think I ever got into that. Years ago when I first started my working career I recall listening to the world series and we would have bets on as to who was going to win. Of course in those days there were only half the teams compared to what they have now.

I'm not much of a sports fan at all, although I do enjoy watching tennis. Sometimes I watch a bit of gaelic football and hurling, depending what team is playing.

My husband was a big cricket fan, he also loved golf, rugby and tennis. My son is a huge American football fan, he follows the Chicago Bears.
