AS I JUST SAID TO HAWK, THERE IS A LIFE AFTER DRIVING. I STOPPED IN 2021 AND AM STILL HERE AND GETTING AROUND. ON MY FEET AND BY BUS OR TRAM. LIFE GOES ON. AND CAN STILL BE LIVED TO FULLEST BUT WITH OTHER GOALS.

Joe and I decided when we first got married, that we were going to go and do whatever we could because we knew the day would come when we couldn't.
We never regretted it.
To us, each day together was a gift from God, even when we could no longer go and do things like we used to do. We treasured it, even more as the end of those days drew closer. Now that I'm alone, I'm trying to regain that awareness of the beauty of each new day. I'm still not sure if I could "go and do", but I need to appreciate the ability to "stay and be".
That's why I encourage you and anyone who can, to go and do those things that you want to do, while you still can. Then you will have the memories and the satisfaction that you did it.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

How awful for your friend, very sad . We just have to appreciate and enjoy each day as it comes.

I have a friend who is almost blind. She was diagnosed with this condition 20 years ago. She does have a partner she lives with so that is a big plus. In the summer she spends a lot of time in her garden. I guess you learn to live with it. I feel for your friend and hope he is able to adjust to it.
