Sorry to hear about Big Boy's passing. Sounds like he was a wonderful and important part of your life.

He is beautiful. I don't know if I like cats or dogs better, they both have their endearing qualities and their aggravating ones. A couple years ago, we had to have our little Pomeranian put down, so I know your pain. We also had a cat, and at the same time, we gave her to my daughter. Without the dog around, she was always underfoot and I was afraid one of us would trip over her. My son in law spoils her rotten, but our house sure seems empty without them. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

So very sorry to hear your beloved Big Boy has passed away Panther. Being a cat lover all my life and rarely without one or more, I understand your pain. I agree that they sense things and more than that they can be emotional and patient too. One of my current cats is a 15 lb black and white and displayed his empathy by trying to get another cat that was afraid to move, out of a large tree. He sat there sofly meowing to the treed cat and they both eventually came down. During the war, it was impossible to get toys for children but our cat named Betty chipped in. She let us dress her up as a baby and take her for rides in my younger brother's pram. Now that was patience. My heart goes out to you on your loss Panther.

SO SORRY TO LEARN YOUR SWEET CAT DIED. I HAD FOUR DOGS HERE IN FRANCE OVER A PERIOD OF 34 YEARS, EACH ONE LIVED A VERY LONG LIFE AND LOSING THEM WAS VERY PAINFUL INDEED. ONE HAD MULTIPLE HEALTH ISSUES BUT IT IS KIDNEY TROUBLE THAT FINALLY ENDED HIS VERY LONG LIFE.EACH ANIMAL WAS A HELP IN PUTTING UP WITH THE PROBLEMS OF EVERYDAY LIVING AND IS MISSED EVEN 13 YEARS AFTER THE LAST ONE PASSED ON. THE PAIN OF LOSS WILL PASS AND FOND MEMORIES WILL REMAIN.

Caroline sorry to hear about your Big Boy cat. It is devastating when we have to get our pets put down. That happened to me in 2002. My little Schnoodle was 10 years old and he developed cancer in his prostate. I was advised by the vet that I should do it quickly as he didn't want me to see him suffer. To this day I still miss him so I know what you are experiencing. Your Big Boy was very handsome.

He sure was a beautiful looking cat, the picture of contentment. I know it's heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet.

I'm sorry for the loss of your dear friend and companion, Panther. I can see he played a large, and important part, in your life. He was seemingly larger than life in more ways than one - 'Big Boy' at 15lbs/ nearly 7 kg metric - I'm trying to imagine a cat that size/weight. He has beautiful, distinctive markings and looks to have a laid-back/'chill' temperament as you described. Although his years were cut short, I'm glad he came into your life, creating sweet memories in the process. A mentor of sorts. Rest in peace Big Boy :- )

Sorry for losing Big Boy! I know he was a good friend and a companion for you. That's why I am not getting pets at home because I got attached and then you will suffer afterwards when you loss them. "The only way to have a friend is to be one."
