Welcome to Week 36 – J Week: Pearls' Coastal Capers! Featuring: Judah Baker, Jackknife, JFK JUDAH BAKER An 18th-century windmill in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts that was named after its original builder, Judah Baker. I took this photo from the shore of Bass River looking up to the ledge where the windmill sits. It was a late September photo and I was happily surprised to see flowers still in bloom at the time. JACKKNIFE During this time of the year beach parking stickers are not required so I can venture out on a photography jaunt anywhere on Cape to catch a beach sunrise. This one's at Jackknife Cove on the Chatham/Harwich line. I wonder if they named the beach after the layout of the road that leads to the parking lot which is steep and twisty! JFK The John F. Kennedy Memorial on Ocean Street in Hyannis, Massachusetts. It is situated in a peaceful park overlooking Lewis Bay, where President Kennedy often sailed throughout his life while in Hyannis Port. I took this photo just after sunrise a few days ago. We've had such a mild winter this year, the grass is still green even in mid-January! Thanks for joining me for Pearls' Coastal Capers - “J week”!

Lovely photos Pearls for Foto-Friday. At this time of the year the traffic around the beach area is less busy. I was reading about the Kennedys this morning. The guy that assassinated Robert F Kennedy was supposed to be paroled but the governor of California denied the parole of the assassin. I always admired this family and a lot of them lived really interesting lives. Thanks for posting all of your interesting photos.

Great set of pictures, my favorite? The one of the beach, I've always loved seaside shots.

I agree with Alfie! I used to love to go to the beach in California when I lived there. My girls and I would pack a picnic or stop and buy something and sit on the beach on a blanket and look out over the ocean and I would tell them their Daddy was out there somewhere at sea when he was in the Navy. They would look and say...where I can't see him. I still chuckle when I think about it.

Lovely photos, as usual. They have such a peaceful feeling. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
