BB gave as good as he got, and he enjoyed the "fight".... you should have heard him laugh about it. To him, it was all a game, until it wasn't. As he got older and his health got worse, it became stressful to him, but he just couldn't let go. It sure didn't help his health either. I hate to see that happening to you, or to anyone else. All we know about each other here in the blogs is what we share and allow others to know. Over the many years that I have been here, I have seen consistency in most people's posts, including the people you mentioned. How does anyone know, in here, that you are a man who lives where you say you do and enjoys collecting antiques, especially old silver ones? Only from what you have shared, the same as with anyone else. By this age, we have all had a variety of experiences, and stories to share. It's when someone is totally inconsistent, tells lies and can't seem to remember what they have said, so they tell other tales that one can say they are fakers. That has not been the case with the people you mention. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

MrsJoe I would just like to clarify - my point about BB is less about the sparring itself but how he went about it. Big Block was, on the whole, consistent in the way he dealt with opposing views - sometimes the constant goading would get the better of him which would elicit a more vicious response, but generally, he fought above the belt. With the exception of one or two 'lefties', he was constantly mocked for his copy & pastes, reading comprehension or lack thereof. Staunch conservatives and/or Christian fundamentalists bore the brunt of the 'lefties' frustration and continues to this day - where is the understanding/temperance of the 'educated' towards those less educated/informed? How clever is continuing to goad those whose defences are often reactive and crude? Sadly, they lost their voice and champion in Maisie who was struck a debilitating stroke as you know. People have feelings and taunting/mocking by calling them 'stupid' or 'losers' only serves to further alienate, not educate. Sparring/boxing above the belt earns respect and wins hearts - not the head stomping, 'kick 'em while they're down' kind. Being the bigger person may not come easily but worth it for our own well being with the potential of fostering goodwill in the process, mirrors your objective (I think). I'll leave it at that.
