I enjoyed reading your blog. I often get harangued on this site for appearing uppity because I use big words.....English is my second language and it's perhaps one of the reasons I enjoy the specificity of a large vocabulary. I grew up in a frontier town full of immigrants from all over the world and First Nations people who still spoke their Native tongue....I loved that. It really made me aware of the many ways we communicate our feelings besides the words. Tone, volume, body language, facial expressions. Emoticons are useful, but I also find that relying on them tends to homogenize emotions. Emoticons aren't specific enough much of the time and things like irony, skepticism or sarcasm are easily misinterpreted.

Good blog!! I think when you first came into chat, I mentioned that you will meet happy folks & unhappy folks. The trick is to know which ones to ignore, and then you will enjoy yourself and have fun. If you want to indicate that what you're saying is sarcastic, maybe... These ones don't quite do it..... I've often said we need a joke/sarcasm font. Party on~~~~~

Interesting blog Dawg. When you think about it our lives are full of surprises and emotional roller coaster moments which emoticons certainly do not express anything like accurately. The only recourse is to explain them in words, as you have so eloquently done above. Not surprisingly when we write about the inherent 'normality' of what society often refers to as 'abnormal' or 'abberant' behaviour the ones who feel threatened by anything which challenges their monochrome view of the world jump in and start hurling insults. Unfortunately that is all they know; they would still be burning crosses if they thought they could get away with it. The different shades of experience and manifest beauty of the world in which we live, and the diversity of the people with whom we share it, escapes them and they are impoverished by that. I am glad you shared your experiences with everyone so thoughtfully and appreciate that you, like all of us, are makig your own path through life to the benefit of as many people as possible. Stay positive and I look forward to your future contributions in blogs.

YOU SOUND PRETTY TYPICAL FOR THIS DAY AND AGE. YOU SAY WHAT YOU THINK IS CORRECT AND THAT IS THAT. NO MATTER WHAT, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE TOES STEPPED ON.

Not to worry about trying to edit a blog in here..... The antiquated SFF system doesn't fix anything, and even if your original blog is correct, the SFF system will omit words~~ You do know that you can delete any comments made on a blog you post??

I have given up on writing anything but a cursory greeting in the blog section because it always has words missing....Instead, I write my blog in the comments section.......It's annoying, but it works.

I'm sorry your daughter is going through so much pain and hope she can get the professional help/support she needs before it's too late. If you haven't already, you could contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to talk about your concerns and take it from there. EMERGENCY SUPPORT NETWORK USA National Suicide Prevention Line: 1-800-273-TALK (8255) The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a United States-based suicide prevention network of over 160 crisis centers that provides 24/7 service via a toll-free hotline with the number 1-800-273-8255 (TALK). It is available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. The caller is routed to their nearest crisis center to receive immediate counseling and local mental health referrals. The lifeline supports people who call for themselves or someone they care about. In July 2020, the FCC finalized an order to direct telecommunication carriers to implement 9-8-8 as the new toll-free nationwide telephone number for the hotline by July 16, 2022. [Am currently reading 'Dark Side of the Brain - Adapting to Diversity' by Lance Burdett (former New Zealand Police lead crisis negotiator specialising in suicide intervention). I recommend reading 'The NZ Herald' article 'Former police negotiator Lance Burdett on battling his demons' (online). I think you will find it insightful. All the best.]
