Some of Donald J Trump's history on Crimea .... On the campaign trail Donald J Trump suggested the US accept Russia’s annexation of Crimea if it would lead to better relations with Vladimir Putin. Trump said HE HAD HEARD that the people of Crimea would rather be part of Russia and the U.S. hasn’t recognized the legitimacy of Russian referendums in Crimea and believes they were not conducted fairly. As President, Trump floated the idea that he has considered removing US Sanctions on Russia and questioned the reasoning behind NATO opposition to Russia's annexation of Crimea. In 2018 President Trump said at G7 "This used to be the G-8, not the G-7, something happened a while ago where Russia is no longer in." Yeah, something did happen ... Putin stole Crimea in 2014.

Putin's invasion of Crimea was a test. We failed it. As with Hitler, a power hungry dictator can't be reasoned with. Unfortunately Putin will take the whole of Ukraine before the rest of the world decides he must be stopped. What a mess!!!
