"Boothill"

Several members have mentioned loosing their beloved pets. I'd planned this blog a few days ago just to show the peaceful beauty of the hill.

The Catalpa tree on our "Boothill" where we lay our pet horses, dogs, and cats is in full bloom. The orchid like clusters giving off their special sweet scent.

I also have Tiger Lilies next to the tree.

Here lies my ever so special Heidi who was featured in numerous blog on another site.

The Hawthorn tree I transplanted to our yard is doing well. I've hit it with nitrogen .

The yellow string beans by the shed are starting to form blossoms.

My "potted" potato plants are thriving. I don't expect a major crop due to crowding but it does make for an interesting focal on the patio.

A warm day for North Iowa.... 90 F... 32 C but the wind was a nascence trying to do yard work and water plants. JD raked hay today planning on trying to make small squares tomorrow. Just HOT & DRY for a few days...but I don't believe the weathermen. ... LAZY Sunday dinner catered by Mc Donalds.......

Your "boothill" is indeed a peaceful place for your pets to have eternal rest. When I saw Heidi's marker, it brought tears to my eyes. She was such an important part of your everyday life.

Your spud plants look very healthy. You might get a few tubers; you never know.

It was a beautiful day here in southern Alberta, reaching 76F, mainly calm, mostly sunny. I absorbed a couple hours of solar radiation on my skin. Took the doggy for a long walk and it was nearly too much for me. I really struggled to make it back to home base. Just about collapsed on the sidewalk several times. She is like the energizer bunny when she takes me for a walk.

We have 60% thunder tonight in the forecast, but the sky is clear right now, W 5 mph, 66F.

Heidi helped with so many blogs. She was a major part of our lives we shared.

I doubt the farmers of Idaho are too concerned about my crop diminishing their demand.

NW Iowa might get some precip tomorrow night but not likely for us. I am just enjoying the heat.

Such a beautiful and peaceful resting place for your beloved pets.

I have orange tiger lilies beside a tree in full bloom too. Mine didn't flower at all last year, for some reason. Your potato plants are coming on a treat.

We also have an area where our beloved pets are buried, but not marked.
Our vet offers cremation services, and has a peaceful small lake area where the ashes are scattered. We took advantage of that service with our last pet because neither of us were able anymore to dig a grave.
I often think of our friend, Dave (Bigblock) when I see your blogs. He lived in Iowa and would text me every day with just chatter and the weather report for his area because it seemed whatever he was getting, would arrive here within the next day or so.

I had tulips and daffodils growing there but a gopher went through and got them.

We have a rare native Tiger Lily I spotted in a ditch not far away. I am debating whether to go dig it and move it to my yard.

This heat wave is on the way. We have a skid loader for our larger pets but the digging is never an easy task both physically or emotionally.
