LOL! Not bad for some potato peals that would have been tossed. A little bacon, some onion and milk............ there's a batch of Autumn Soup to ward off a chill!

I can totally identify with your satisfaction......My daughter gave me a huge pot of herbs and flowers and one small cherry- tomato plant for Mother's day....It's been sitting on my semi-shady deck all Summer ...out of reach of the deer.......I've been enjoying the flowers and herbs, but the tomato didn't do much......until the last few weeks......Apparently the tomato plant was waiting until the other plants died and it got the pot to itself.....It got huge......now I'm snacking on those sweet little tomatoes every day......

I missed out on most of my tomatoes this year.... however, I did bring in one plant to finish off with a few BLTs all to myself. There's nothing like fresh herbs snipped on salads and sandwiches.

Well look at that! Your little potato plant produced enough for a pot of yummy potato soup! I've never grown potatoes in my garden, just might try planting some for next year.

They are rather decorative if you have some big planter pots too.
