Colonel Bretty ! Our guys ask for my Colonel Bretty's Fried Chicken Sandwiches. I buy a large package of boneless / skinless thighs at Walmart just for them.... juicy / flavorful ! I season the meat with Lawrey's Seasoned Salt while in the flour bowl ready to be completely covered with flour. Dip the meat in beaten eggs before dredging in bread crumbs. I make my own bread crumbs to control the size and quality. Unfortunately my picture in the bread crumbs didn't turn out but here you see the piece of chicken in the greased fry pan ready for cooking. Fry to a golden brown then place in a Dutch oven to simmer in a 350 degree oven for about an hour. The guys love Colonel Bretty's Fried Chicken Sandwiches with baked beans, coleslaw, chips and dip! |

That looks so good, that I would even eat a Fried Chicken Sandwich now after midnight. I prepare a Pork Schnitzel the same way before it goes in the greased frying pan. What is the difference of a Dutch oven and a "normal" oven? Happiness is when what you think, what you say, what you do are in harmony - M. Gandhi

OMG! That is such an easy recipe for a delicious meal. I will have to try it sometime. Today I made myself a big batch of spaghetti and meat sauce. It should last me for about 10 days. It was a very busy Hump Day for me. I finally got the repairs done to my garage, got it cleaned up and even got the old yellow taxi parked inside. We might get snow next week and I like having my vehicle inside where it is warm and dry.

A Dutch Oven is a heavy cast iron "Pan" capable of being set directly on a fire or covered in hot coals . I just use it to keep the meat hot until it is served. Happiness is when what you think, what you say, what you do are in harmony - M. Gandhi
