I agree. Those who scream the loudest against the wall and curtailing illegal immigration are most likely not living near any of them and in no danger of being directly affected by them.

Report: More than half of immigrants on welfare I am seeing apples and oranges here, are you telling me we need a wall because immigrants who came to our country legally are getting public assistance?

Actually immigrants are generally not entitled for welfare benefits for the first five years. Cash assistance and housing are used more by the native households than the immigrant.

Try putting this title in your browser, "Verify: Are most immigrants on welfare?"
By Anthony Cave

(or you can read the condensed version below, taken from the article)

University of California, Davis Law School Dean and immigration expert Kevin Johnson said immigrants cannot be over consuming public benefits because they are not eligible to receive the benefits in the first place.
“To say that the general rate of use by immigrants of public benefits is anywhere close to 50 percent is an exaggeration and just isn’t supported by the evidence,” he said.
To recap, the Trump administration’s claim that the majority -- more than 50 percent -- of immigrant households use welfare leaves out important context.
Native households use even more of these benefits in certain categories.
Bottom line, the Trump administration’s claim is not verified.

And, if you take that thought to it's full conclusion, those American companies who, (against the law) employ illegal aliens, evade paying even more taxes. Undocumented workers rarely earn enough to take them into the tax bracket anyway. Where there is demand there will be supply. Maybe it's time to round up all the illegal employers and destroy the demand.

This blog doesn't mention "illegal aliens".

Dan, the article didn't differentiate between immigrants who come here for a better life, and the refugee immigrants who we bring here........... Hobs' statement is most likely about the first category. Those in the second category are given support, right from the beginning. My daughter worked in a housing facility that had many new refugee immigrants and the government paid for their housing, gave them food stamps, and also cash allowances. Some looked for jobs.... many did not. They were living better than they had ever lived in their own country, so why should they? And sadly, they often trashed the area where they lived.

Most refugees have fled their countries, (which you and trump call sh*tholes) homes and families destroyed... mostly by our armies...those of the UK, America and Russia etc. What do you suggest should be done with them...let them wander for forty years like some other refugees did in the Bible ?
