Jimmy Kimmel is voicing exactly what most of America (and the rest of the world)
have tried to explain to the lame-brains who care not a whit about their country or it's people. All that truly matters to them is taking away the right to life of others...simply because they don't want to pay taxes.

They would rather 700 billion in taxes to the Pentagon and another 80 billion to the military, to kill millions of people in other countries.

Deniability is the Republican way. ..not THE AMERICAN WAY!!!

Since no-one else is stepping up to explain to the people what's actually in that secret health care bill, I admire Kimmel for risking his own career to try to do so.

Are you nuts? In all this idiotic rambling...where's your responsibility toward your fellow countrymen? Do you really believe your civic...as well as Christian... duty begins and ends with voting? There are 45 million poor people in your country...and you expect other people to take on your civic and humanitarian duties?

And all you can think of apologising for is taking up room in a blog?

I think Kimmel had a wake up call with the birth of his son. He realized his son was lucky as he had the means to get the medical attention he needed, and will need in the future. I think it's called "empathy". What better spokesperson can anyone ask for?

ET...I see a very different reality to the one portrayed be the far right nuts in SFF.

What I see is refusal to accept their humanitarian and civic duties to their fellow countrymen. They are willing enough to pay out $780 billion in taxes to the Pentagon and the military... while denying their own people the right to even basic healthcare. So much for their "love" for their country.
They believe in taking away jobs, denying a minimum wage, and leaving them to get poorer and poorer.
What they are actually saying, is that 24 million poor people in America should be taken care of by charity...why should THEY pay taxes for the benefit of other people. And you know what? I bet not one of them would accept that kind of circumstance for themselves

They have no shame in their greed /SIZE]

Eggzackly!!!.......I don't know where Maisie gets the idea that Kimmel is doing this because he is worried his own son will be cut off health care.....

Interesting note.........Jimmy Kimmel's wife and mother to Billy is a head writer and producer on his show, which probably means she contributed to his stance on health care..........She has been part of the show for the whole 14 years and so the whole behind-the-scenes staff has gone through the horrors of Billy's medical crisis with them and are also behind the Kimmel's stance.

Hi ET. I'm not familiar with Jimmy Kimmel but why not capitalise on his popularity/exposure to publicly expess his concern regarding health insurance eligibility/affordability for those with pre-existing health conditions and associated ongoing expenses? My understanding is, his son, born with a heart condition, has made him aware of the high costs involved; of the heavy financial burden on the sick and their families. I also very much applaud Senator McCain's resolve to hold back from pushing through ACA reform bill for the reasons stated (instead of caving in to party pressure).

Where did I say that you don't give to charity? I did not accuse you of that.

What I actually asked is...why you think it's ok to leave the wellbeing of 45 million of your fellow Americans to the charity of certain Hollywood stars because you don't want to pay for them? That's what you said...where's the civic duty in that? It's nuts!

How do you think you'd feel working more than 40 hours a week and still having to depend on the charity of others to put food on the family table?
"Let the rich look after them, " is not an option, it is our civic and humanitarian duty to pay taxes to provide for all the people of our countries. It is not "paying for the poor" it is contributing to the general wealth, wellbeing and respect of our country and it's standing in the World.

If you think that's hypocrisy, then I feel very sorry for you. There's nothing worse for us than being poor in spirit.

I caught a quote, on tv, about the new tax bill. People making 900,000 would get a 200,000 TAX CREDIT! Does ANYONE on here, know what 900,000 looks and feels like??? The President nor The Senators will NOT read THE whole TAX BILL, nor will they READ the WHOLE "new" Health Care System. It is common knowledge that all bills are "read" by aides. It is "their" interpretations that are then "repeated" by Congress. EX; The President being told Puert Rico was an island." Surrounded by W A T E R! Lots of W A T E R! Ocean water!", he said. He doesn't read. He is "Briefed", when he has time. Not every day, because he tires of hearing all the same, he wants to go golfing.
