Good to see you back ET, my condolences to MySeek but I know she will recover from her teaching experience (tic). I too hate having to upgrade systems and learn new things. Any hoo, blog on ET.

Welcome back. So you went straight from 7 to 10 and skipped right past 8? I still have 8.1 and 10, and was able to configure them to work more like good old 7! Now I can tolerate them both. But I find the older I get, the less I want the newer things. I am terrified of the day our TV breaks down and we have to figure out all those new fangled ones. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Welcome back ET I started out using using a Mac......I even took a few workshops .....I had in mind some self-publishing......I actually did quite a lot of publishing, using my own artwork to illustrate my writing......even some manual-type self-help booklets for the Women's Centre, the Community Arts Council, Gallery shows, Children's Programs, Community events and even a resort.......I bought a very expensive photoshop program that was so complicated I only got to a very basic level.....way too advanced for my simple needs, but it was fun to play with for a while. I had ambitions of making commercial videos as well and began by using stills from videos for brochures........Freezing an action video at the exact split second turned out to be more aggravating than fun........It turned out that my patience for creating graphics on the computer was short lived.......Maybe if I had started at 12 instead of in my 50s........ When I first switched from a mac to a PC, it took me a while to get the hang of it.......I installed the 10 and didn't like it....it's just too busy.....I switched back to 8.1.

Welcome back ET! I did the same as mrsjoe... I didn't want W10 and I had seen glitches with some of the other configurations, so I felt that 7 worked best!

Welcome back Earthy! I have no problem with Windows 10. I got the free download of Windows 10 in July of 2016. They had written a program to convert Windows 7 to 10 and everything went smoothly. I even did it myself and didn't require the assistance of my nephew techie. A friend of mine decided not to download the free version of it and then after the fact she decided she wanted Windows 10 and went to Microsoft to get them to download on her computer. Of course it cost her plus they deleted a lot of her programs. So I was glad I downloaded it before the deadline date of July 31, 2016.

Laughing here ET, because I too have brushed my hand across that touch pad and sent everything spinning. Yellowduck showed me how he hooks a mouse and keyboard to his laptop when he travels, and I do that even at home when I use the laptop. When I had to get a new one last spring when we were traveling, I automatically bought an external mouse because I cannot seem to get the feel of that touch pad. I do use the keyboard on the laptop now, but I make sure my hands are nowhere near that touch pad! And don't feel like the Lone Ranger..... I still have a flip top cell phone too! One of those expensive ones from Walmart.... $18 I think it cost me. LOL. My kids are yelling for me to get into the "real" world with my phone because if they send me a picture, it is so small I can't see it clearly. No problem. I just forward it to my computer! BONUS...... I have found a game on my Windows 10 that I like that I didn't have in the past. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
