I take a baby aspirin every day for preventative. They found it doesn't help women for heart attacks by itself but with a statin, they may help prevent a heart attack. There is a test, can't recall the name, that indicates if that is a good idea. As far as internal bleeding, after 65 the risk is higher so one should be tested regularly to see if your red blood cell count shows a loss of blood. That would indicate issues with aspirin (of course could be other things too). Best is to always check with your doctor. Yes ET some doctors aren't very good so one does have to do reading but supposedly for women, a baby aspirin can help prevent a stroke.

THE ASPIRIN NO-NO HAS BEEN IN EFFECT HERE FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW. I'M VERY SURPRISED THE US IS STILL USING IT. NOT ONLY CAN IT CAUSE INTERNAL BLEEDING, IT CAN BE LETHAL FOR PEOPLE ALLERGIC TO IT SUCH AS MYSELF.

I was diagnosed with the same malady that took my mother the other side a month before her 65th birthday. Pulmonary Embolism equals blood clot that travelled from the leg to the lungs. Thus I take low dose aspirin to avoid that scenerio. Earlier this year, I landed in ICU Hades because of internal bleeding caused by XARELTO. I told the doctor, I am NOT taking that rat poison and was told that I was at risk for stroke. I asked about atrial ablation. The cardiologist finally that I didn't need the blood thinner or the atrial ablation. My regular doctor understands me. The less medication the better. She recommended blackstrap molasses to get the hemoglobin count up. I also use bone broth for digestive and arthritis. It works like a charm. Although I realize that life is terminal and I am not afraid to step over to the other side, there are a few things on my bucket list (zip lining across an alligator park) that I would like to complete.

Yes, I agree, 'heal thyself' unless medication is absolutely needed. I never took a med in my entire life until last year when I had a terrible fall at my son's (his sunken dining room). I was rushed to hospital where they found I had a heart problem (not wishing to describe it here)... so no doubt this fall was a blessing in disguise. A few days later my doctor contacted me & sent me to a cardiologist. I now have to take a medication at night on an empty tummy & another in the am with breakfast. In between I continue to take my supplements (already approved by the doctor). I feel great and although I hated the thought of ever taking a medication, I thought the most the doctor would suggest would be an aspirin a day (as my late hubby used to take for his heart). I asked about the aspirin and much to my surprise, the cardiologist said it wasn't necessary!! So life goes on...

Yes, ET, I also drink Oolong Tea... plus other types of herbal teas. I haven't had coffee in many years (used to upset my tummy) but the teas are great. BTW Oolong is also great for digestion!

True if only one bought it, but with a population of 300 million .... plenty room for profit.
