We went to supper at one of my daughters and enjoyed good food and great company. They have 5 boys, (3 of which are grown, with mates) 2 young ones, and 2 grand daughters.
It was nice, but I also found it slightly depressing, to be the "old gramma" in the corner, instead of the one orchestrating the festivities.
I guess all the activity of the past few days got to me because I slept most of yesterday. LOL.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

My kids overwhelmed me as they so often do at Christmas. It's become such an emotional day in recent years. One of the great pleasures of my retirement has been my ability to help them with something and sometimes I wonder if the effort, which can be substantial at times, is appreciated as much as it should be. But I shove those emotions aside as best I can and just give again. What is clear to me, especially at Christmas the last couple years, is that my kids don't really miss much. It motivates me to keep on giving...all through the year and I am grateful for the many ways God demonstrates love....that must be our guiding principle that makes us whole.

Let's see, no balloon ascension … we only gave each other nice Christmas cards. Nuthin' we need or want but Alfie came up with a great idea...take each other to dinner or lunner, lunch and dinner combined. We don't normally eat in the evening other than an ice cream cone.

I am taking him to a great smorgasbord in Macon and he will decide where to go for the other one.

Oh I did cook a nice lunner. Broasted chicken, thanks to Wal Mart, sage and onion stuffing he asked for, and cole slaw. I also fixed a nice poached egg and sausage links. This morning we ate the rest of the sausage and I fried an egg in a hole with the rest of the stuffing. It was yummy!

That breakfast this morning was REALLY yummy!! We must have that again sometime soon, don't ya think?

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Well I had my own son & family for Christmas Day (first time at my place in a long tome)...then on Boxing Day (Dec. 26) we all went out of town (hubby's relatives), 2 hours away & had a great time... they always have a huge get together on Dec. 26th. It was company coming and going all day .... lots of food too. Got home late so today is a huge down time. Oh not to forget that I had been attending Christmas parties & luncheons throughout the entire month! Nothing special for New Years other than out to dinner.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and may 2019 be your best ever!!
