Remember back when the news was a local half hour TV program, with sports and weather? And the national news was also a half hour show, and it was just the news without the opinion. Our other source for news was the paper. We read and listened and formed our own opinions.
Then, in our area, the local weathermen started interrupting broadcasts with weather alerts and began to see if they could out-hype the other channels.
Then came "progress" and cable news came into our homes with all the opinion and hype and it has turned into a monster! I turn it off and listen to old time rock-n-roll music on the TV.
I remember a magazine from years ago..... was printed on paper like a newspaper..... but it was filled with good news stuff about current events and articles of interest. Don't remember the name of it, but we subscribed to it and I found the "news" to be getting depressing even back then, and always looked forward to reading it.
We have always had bad stuff happening, but the constant harping and hype is ridiculous in my opinion.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Gee Earthy the only Anne Murray I know is a well known Canadian singer from Spring Hill, Nova Scotia. She became well known in the late 60's. I guess you aren't talking about her.

I will have to listen to this Earthy. I always liked her. You don't hear so much about her these days.
