Trump is a chaos generator.....he spews distraction......Behind the scenes, it's a power-grab. Distill his moves, his decisions, his appointments, his attitude...It's all a way to give himself more power.....ultimate power.......He said from day 1 that he wanted support from the most ignorant .....a base that is composed of sheep who will follow him no matter what he says or does.......He has arranged his government and judiciary so that those in power are beholden to him.....he has the country by the short and curlies......He isn't going anywhere any time soon.......America the free is now a dictatorship......j

I recognize your mind-set from the stories my father told me about what it was like in Europe when they watched Hitler hypnotize the Hoi Polloi.......

Why can't Trump do what is correct and right?
I totally agree with you ET, if you have nothing to hide, you tell the truth and give them your evidence of no wrong doing and move on. Trump is so disrespectful to our constitution and the balance of power.
I said from when Trump ran in 2016 that he was like Hitler and everyone said I was wrong. The handwriting is on the wall and folks are still not believing what is happening and what he is dong to our country.
These are very sad days for America.

'Though he was willing and ready, Gordon D. Sonland, US ambassador the EU, was ordered by Trump & company not testify at three House investigative committee meetings scheduled for today.'

I don't understand ET - what authority does Trump have to decide who can or can't testify. What would the consequences be if the person/s decided to testify regardless (without advising Trump and cohorts beforehand).

There you go again with the whataboutery! Adam Schiff is NOT the president! President Obama is no longer in office! The problem is the liar presently occupying the Oval Office. No amount of finger pointing is going to make Trump look good. If Trump is innocent, why is he so busy trying to block people from testifying? Time for you to take a good look at Trump, the stable genius, as an individual rather than comparing him to others. You've grabbed onto the Republican talking points, repeating them over and over, and have stopped thinking or even considering the facts.

I don't want Republican talking points. Fact is Mueller didn't charge Trump with a crime because he went along with the idea that a sitting President cannot be charged. Mueller clearly stated that he couldn't clear Trump of a crime, but Mueller did lay out the case for obstruction. Obstruction could well be the reason he couldn't find evidence of collusion. Congress is doing its job or at least trying to do its job. If Trump has nothing to hide, why is he doing his darnedest to hide evidence, to stop people from speaking their truths and impeding Congress' investigation? Sound like an innocent man to you? Trump needs to testify under oath. Oh I forgot, he's not allowed to testify under oath as he will undoubtedly lie, so his attorneys have to protect Trump from himself.

Already you are blaming the whistle blower for the information that has been shared, and verified by others. I think the investigation should be allowed to proceed and obstruction of justice charges should be brought upon all those putting up the barricades to protect Trump from Trump. The USA needs a true leader not a con man who is neither stable nor a genius.

The president's supporters have claimed that, in August, prior to the whistleblower filing his complaint about Trump and the July call, the intelligence community changed a rule they say required that whistleblowers provide direct, first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoings.

In making the claim, Trump and his supporters referred to a change made on the “Disclosure of Urgent Concern” form, which previously had asked if the whistleblower had direct or indirect knowledge.

The intelligence community inspector's general's office released a statement Monday evening disputing any recent change in the whistleblower form.

“With respect to the whistleblower complaint received by the ICIG on August 12, 2019, the ICIG processed and reviewed the complaint in accordance with the law,” read a statement from the intelligence community inspector general's office (ICIG) dated Sept. 30. “The Disclosure of Urgent Concern form the Complainant submitted on August 12, 2019 is the same form the ICIG has had in place since May 24, 2018,” the statement said.

National security lawyers who specialize in whistleblower complaints told ABC News that whistleblowers have never been required to have direct knowledge of alleged wrongdoing in order to file a complaint.

“In no way, shape or form was anything changed as a matter of law,” said national security lawyer Brad Moss. “The law has never said that a whistleblower couldn't have second information because that would unnecessarily restrict an inordinate amount of whistleblowing allegations coming forward because most people don’t have the first-hand information.”

Irvin McCullough, national security analyst for Government Accountability Project, said that the change made in an attempt to revamp and simplify the form, carried no legal weight and did not change any whistleblower laws or protections.

Moss agreed, saying that the previous form caused some confusion for whistleblowers who did not have legal counsel about whether they themselves had to have first-hand knowledge. He agreed as well that changing the form didn't change the law that he said clearly allows a whistleblower to file a complaint with second-hand information.

“The changed form didn’t change anything as a matter of law, nor could they change the law with just a form,” Moss said. “If they wanted to revise the evidentiary threshold that the ICIG [intelligence community inspector general) had to meet, then Congress had to change the law -- it couldn’t be done through a form.

Beyond that, the ICIG's statement stated that some of the information in the whistleblower's complaint did in fact come from first-hand knowledge.

"The Complainant on the form he or she submitted on August 12, 2019 in fact checked two relevant boxes: The first box stated that, ‘I have personal and/or direct knowledge of events or records involved’; and the second box stated that, ‘Other employees have told me about events or records involved,’” the ICIG's statement said.

It continued: "As part of his determination that the urgent concern appeared credible, the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community determined that the Complainant had official and authorized access to the information and sources referenced in the Complainant’s Letter and Classified Appendix, including direct knowledge of certain alleged conduct."
