Let The Holiday Greeting Debate Begin Happy Holidays in NOVEMBER does NOT equal MERRY X-MAS. It equals HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Happy Holidays in December can mean Merry X-mas, Happy Hanukkah OR Yuletide Greetings. My preference is BAH HUMBUG!!!! I wish they would put Scrooge or the Grinch on those Starbuck Cups. |

At the last flea market, as I said goodbye to folks I knew I would not see again this year, I would say, "Have a happy and blessed holiday season"..... for that is what November and December are. A holiday season that encompasses many holidays that are celebrated in many ways. As Thanksgiving approaches, I say "Have a Happy Thanksgiving." And as Christmas approaches, I say "Merry Christmas". I am not offended in the least if someone gives me the greeting from their personal holiday or the generic Happy Holidays. I am free to say what I chose, they should be also. I do object if an employer tries to stifle the employee from speaking their mind about it. So, Happy Thanksgiving, Star! Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I agree with Deborahsu, dinty, Mrs.Joe...Happy Thanksgiving! When Christmas and New Year arrives I will wish you those. In Wal Mart I always tell the employees Merry Christmas and notice they do reply, maybe a mumble but they do reply
