un·a·pol·o·get·ically WAL-MART!!!!

I just came across a mean-spirited blog ridiculing a woman because of her occupation and where she works just because of an disagreement with her politics.

Ironically, in 2006, I went to Texas looking for love and found WAL-MART instead. I loved working in the bakery and diovered that baking bread can be a spiritual experience. I learned the value of When you walk through the fire, you shall not be ... you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame orch you Isaiah 43:2 quoted by my Great-Granny to stop a burn. It worked it's magic when my hand touched the hot oven. I have worked at Wal-Marts in Texas, Nevada, Virginia and West Virginia.

All jobs have their positive and negatives. That is life on life's terms. Nevertheless, I worked with a diverse team of people with different religions, politics and ethnic groups. There was NEVER a need to ridicule them for who they are, what they do, what they believe or where they came from. I actually found it interesting.

It has been my experience that when individuals find a need to ridicule some else, it is for the purpose of maintaining what they perceive as a superior status. It's all an illusion. The Shame is misplaced.

We are all of the Universe with a right to be.

Very well stated, Star. I was an LPN.... I found some RNs who found it necessary to put down LPNs as inferior nurses, even when many LPNs had years and years of experience and knowledge. Then there were RNs who accepted us as a good part of the nursing team. It was easy to see which ones had confidence in themselves and which didn't.
It worked the same way with the CNAs, nurses often put them down, but I felt they were the VITAL part of my team..... and treated them as such. I guess that is why I always had a good and loyal team who gave our patients their all.
It is that way in every aspect of life..... we need to see the value in others and not home in on the faults, and whatever job one has is certainly not a fault. I'm more interested in the work ethic, than the job. Work ethic shows character.

That is NOT true. I have known people (including a family member) who works or worked at Walmart, and none of them were on welfare.

This is not true. Maisie has often made reference to her years of working for Walmart. Just recently, in reference to working for Walmart, she said,
"In the almost 10 years I worked for them, I got bonuses as an hourly, and bigger ones as a salary manager. I had lots of perks , both as a part-time hourly and a full time hourly supervisor or salary manager. Perks like personal time, sick time, stock options with company match, and a discount .
Walmart is the company the Left loves to hate, and with zero reason. The only difference between them and other retailers is they are bigger and have more shareholders to keep happy. "

People who work at Wal-Mart were on WELFARE???? Actually, there were employees who received assistants BEFORE they became employed. They start out as part-time employees and still receive EBT and Medicaid assistance. They no longer need the assistance when wages go up and their circumstances improve

This is a reality at most jobs. It takes a while to get back one's feet even with the start of a new job. I personally have no issue with assistance for people who helping themselves but still need a leg up.

I worked for Wal-Mart for several years and NEVER relied on Welfare..

Since the mean-spirited blog has been deleted, the writer of the blog was obviously not too proud of it.

It doesn't matter if someone is working in "Top Management" or stocking the shelves. It is ALL Retail. That is the nature of the business.

I have been a Cashier, a Produce Merchandiser , a Meat Department and Bakery Associate - and it's ALL RETAIL. The store manager, assistant managers, department managers and hourly associates are ALL "in retail"

Produce and the Meat Department were considered the Fresh Area but eventually reclassified. I loved the bakery but cakes were never my forte. Still, cakes had to be easier than driving those FiretrUCKING forklifts.

I loved the physical aspects of the job, pulling pallets, unloading trucks, and reloading pallets, along with spraying the floors clean, It was like going to the gym and getting paid for it. I missed all of that when I started cashiering.

I have more than a clue about Wal-Mart because I worked at Wal-Mart for several years. Far as the ridiculous Marches go, at least I am doing something that will get results. All you are doing is name-calling which accomplished nothing except to make you look like the Dimwit!

If you think there is something okay about creating a blog where you and friends can publically ridicule someone because of where they work, you have some warped values.

Tomato, To"mah"to Perks, Benefits - It's all the same. I was always an hourly associate and nobody special but I had personal time, sick time, stock options with a company match, the Wally World Discount Card, the Black Friday Holiday Discount, and best of all the ability to transfer to different stores in different states. Certainly, those in management get bigger and better benefits aka perks but that's the way things roll. This is a lot more than many employers especially in West Virginia offer.

But as to your point, I have never understood job shaming. I consider all work valuable (quoting Maisie). Well said, and I think 'forthright' describes you more accurately than 'pretentious'.

LOL! The funny thing is that I didn't even name names in my blog and the mocking birds came out to crow none the less.

It is interesting how I frequently find myself aligned with the conservatives because the behavior of the other side is an embarrassment. SC's opinion is of my politics is of no consequences. We have no clue if he/she is even a real character just a fictitious troll.
