WV State Fair Parking Lots, Finding Mozart and Charlie Daniels.

I have a talent for forgetting where I parked my car, I am working at the West Virginia State Fair for the week and losing my car in that lot is not a good scenerio. I take pictures of the lot number and nearby landmarks and thus far have managed to find my car every day this week.

Saturday was insanely busy. I left home two hours early and still managed to make it to work on time. The State Trooper directed me to a lot that looked like BumFiretrUCK , Texas minus the dufus Trucker. I reluctantly left Mozart and started toward the fair while taking photos of various landmarks.

As I was taking a photo of the nearest lot number - the Trooper asked "What the @#!$%!!! are you doing." He was aggravated at the fair attendee too. One of my co-worker stopped her car and offer to drive me closer. She has a hip problem with a handicap placard. I have a hip problem with no handicap placard. It worked out great.

That night, one of the office ladies offered to take me to my parking space in the golf cart. That was an adventure considering all the cars we had to dodge. It was much appreciated. I can push myself on the walking distance but finding Mozart in a dark, isolated parking area is not a good scenerio.

The next day I actually found a space in the employee parking lot. Yea Haw!!!

Last night, as we were counting the money, I remarked "If I get a perfect till, Charlie Daniels is going to offer to be my sugar daddy on Friday night." Everyone was laughing when I actually had a perfect till.

I climbed on the shuttle to get to my car and the driver of the tractor who is a friend of mine in the 12 Step Community drove the shuttle right next to my car. That is good as it gets.

Friday night, I am taking the night off for a wild date with Charlie Daniels (Yea Haw!!!), Travis Tritt and the Marshall Tucker Band. I seriously doubt if Charlies Daniels is even old enough to become my sugar daddy but maybe I can find a reasonable facsimile.

Wouldn't it be ironic if I became a Senior Groupie.

I like it when Alfie drives us to Wal Mart. I don't know how many times I have wandered the lot looking for my lost car. I am not lost, Wal Mart employees hot wire my locked car...…….a talent I am sure, and move it.

You forgot to mention WHAT you are doing at the state fair! I know you said "working", but doing what?
I used to love going to our state fair. Lawrence and I would go one day and walk the WHOLE thing, and sample all kinds of goodies the fair had to offer. Then, a couple of days later, we would take the kids, with a big picnic, and go to the things they were interested in seeing. They still laugh about the potato salad I made one year. I was in a hurry and the potatoes were still a little crunchy. So after that, when I made potato salad, they would ask if it was "state fair potato salad".
I don't think I would like to hunt my car at night in a huge area like that...... or even walk to it alone.
Be safe. And have a good time with your "date" Friday night.

I am working in the ticket booth. I have been working at the State Fair for the last three years. When I first applied, I wanted to do anything EXCEPT cashiering but they saw Wal-Mart cashiering experience, they told me that is where I was needed. It's actually fun working there plus I can enjoy the fair at no cost. I am taking the day off Friday to spend more time at the Fair and the Charlie Daniels/Travis Tritt/Marshall Tucker Concert.

You always seem to have the most interestig fun!

I am admiring those quilts. To me the quilts are a special part of a fair.
I've seen them in Kutztown, PA and in Shelburne, VT and they really knock me out. So do the fancy sewing machines used to make them!
