How NOT to Protest!!!!

[ I have been to a few protests. Luckily the women in the Rally Bus that I travelled with at the Women's March were well organized. There was a permit and rules. Clear pack backs, no engaging with the opposition who may actually be agitators, no Trump bashing and don't leave a mess. Not all groups adhered to the same standard. Some of the signs were actually funny but trying to move around in a mosh pit and listening to Madonna's potty mouth didn't seen to send much of a message.

Nevertheless, considering the size of the March which happened nationwide, there was minimal problems. We were high fiving the police not getting arrested by them.

There was also the People's Climate Change March. My girlfriend and I were hosted by a friend in Alexandria. We were taking the Metro to Washington D.C. We met a woman from Texas and suggested that she hang out with us. We lined up with the Sierra Club. I was having problems with the heat so I opted to stay in the Museum of Natural History while my girlfriend and the Texas woman marched to the White House.

Next was the protests at the FERK Building. There were some who considered getting arrested a badge of honor. My girlfriend and I decided, No we are NOT getting arrested. We did manage to get escorted out of the FERK Building by Homeland Security only because of the company we were keeping. Afterwards, we went to the Hart Building to lobby with our Senators.

I have to shake my head watching the recent protests. They are on the supreme court steps and filling up the Hart Building. The police are escorting them out with hands bounded by ziplock ties. Protestors provide a major source of revenue for Washington DC. They made at least $50. per arrest. Oh what fun, climbing in the Metro, getting packed like sardines. I was watching a young protestor dancing and jumping around an elderly man, stepping into his personal space and trying to knock down his signs. Ford lied, Arm Teachers to Protect Students, and Liberalism cause Cancer!" I can guarantee that the elderly man deliberately walked into the group of protestors to deliberely agitate them and make them look bad. Mission Accomplished.

I am so glad that our Democratic West Virginia Senator did not cave into the demands of the mob and did the right thing.

There are protests............. and then there are riots.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

That is so true. I was actually around during the Watts riots. I also remember the riots after the Rodney King verdict. It is interesting how the verdict took place in Simi Valley but there the riots happened in Los Angeles. People were destroying their own neighborhoods. So the charges were refiled under a different name and the cops were convicted. It seems like double jeopardy to me.

    Quoting  :

I have given up on the definition of bigot. I have been labeled a racist just by the virtue of being born a white female. I try to treat everyone with kindness and respect. My feeling is that I am not trading Catholic guilt for Quaker guilt. I do think the rioters are stupid and what they are doing is counterproductive to the cause.

What I find ironic is that I can discuss with the Republicians, the same issues that I spoke to them as a Democrat. Health Care, the Ecomony, the Enviorment, Race Relations, Prison Reform, the Drug Problem in West Virginia, Gay Rights, Ad Infinitum. The idiots trying to tear down the Supreme Court certainly are not sending much of a message.
