Donkeys and Elephants in the Room Oh My!

It is kind of ironic because I have lobbied to the Congressional Representatives and Senators on both sides of the aisle. I can also discuss the same topics that I covered before. Health Care, the Economy, Envormental Issues, Immigration, Sentencing Reform, the Drug Problem in West Virginia. Ad Infinitum.

I am also affiliated with an organization that promotes Fair Trade on the local level and beyond. It doesn't matter what my political party is - Fair Trade is an issue that both sides can deal with. There is nothing wrong with changing paths. Doing the same thing over and over again does not merit different results. I've changed jobs, churches, boyfriends and my hair color. When something isn't working for me, sometimes a even a slight change can make a dramatic different .

I don't always know why my Higher Power leads me in certain directions but it always makes sense down the road. So it came to a point where I had to choose the elephant or the donkey. I sent the donkey to the barn and will find out if the elephant can fly.

It doesn't matter what political party, I belong to. I was a moderate as a democrat and I am STILL a moderate as a Republican. I am STILL pro-choice, I STILL support Kaepernick's right to kneel, and I STILL have many of my liberal inclinations. Many of the #WalkAways are same in the same boat. It is the crazy, hateful, politically correct nonsense and lack of tolerance that I am walking away from. I can respect someone else's viewpoint even if it's different. This was not an overnight venture. It's been a long time coming. There have been quite a few #WalkAways in the past few weeks. The GOP is becoming more diverse.

Star, just as when you were wildly liberal (in my eyes) in a nonpolitical way, you do not have to explain or defend yourself or your actions. But just as you took heat for your choices and behavior then, it appears you are taking heat now, for purely political reasons.
You have been around here long enough for folks to get to know you and realize that you have no "agenda" other than to live your life the way you want. If you chose to share some things about your life and your events, then people should accept your choices and be glad for you that you are able to go and do the things you enjoy doing.
I am smiling right now, remembering parts of your journey of life that you have shared with us over the years. Very "colorful" indeed. Thank goodness many of us have learned to accept others without hate due to differences of opinions and lifestyles.

The past few years that I've been following the blogs, I found myself agreeing more and more with the conservatives while observing that the alleged liberal are FiretrUCKING nuts. This change is not something that has happened overnight. It's taken a few years to finally step over to the other side.

My life is dull compared to what it used to be but that's a good thing. I am perfectly happy with spending time with the grandbaby, the occassional trip to Washington D.C. and the pending zip lining across the alligator farm.

I have done and said a few things that I regret. There have been times when I would write something, take a look at it and immediately delete it. Perhaps I should apologize to Trump for photoshopping that pink pussy cap on him. Naw!!!!

Only Star can delete them, but if I know her, she will and she will accept your apology. It takes a strong person to say "I apologize".
