Why November Elections and The Electoral College Voting System

John Quincy Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Donald Trump won their respective elections despite a minority of the popular vote.

It is ironic that Bill Clinton became President despite losing the popular vote while his wife Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and Donald Trump became President instead

The Electoral College system was written into Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution. It was a compromise between those at the Constitutional Convention who wanted the U.S. president elected by popular vote and those who wanted Congress to select the president.

Instead, electors corresponding to the number of representatives each state had in Congress would elect the president.

This gives the people in rural populations a voice and assures that they are not overrun by the mob in highly populated states with big cities. The system also make election fraud more difficult. The crooks have to figure out which ballot boxes to stuff and that doesn't always work in their favor.

When a Presidential candidate focuses on campaigning in the more popular state while ignoring the smaller states, they can be unpleasantly surprised. This happened to Al Gore who was depending on traditionally Democrat West Virginia which flipped to Republican giving the Presidency to George W. Bush.

Thank God, West Virginia can count a whole lot better than Florida.

The reason the main election is held in November was to accommodate the farmers. It's the tail end of the harvesting season which meant it was easier for them to get out to vote.

The Mob does not dictate the outcome.

And those shaded areas are mostly Democrat controlled. Thank goodness for the electoral college.

I certainly would not want the movie stars in California dictating what is best for West Virginia.

The mob does indeed dictate the outcome as they did in 2000. The vote in 2000 should never have been certified by Florida's Secretary of State. The vote should have been decided in the congress. The House would have voted for Bush, the Senate would have ended in a tie vote and...Al Gore had the duty to actually make the deciding vote. Do you really think he would have voted against himself, when he won the popular vote?

The right wing mob stole an election and as a result America got the absolute worst president in U.S. history...until Donald Trump colluded with the Russian mob to steal another one...with the minority of the vote...and clearly corrupt and incompetent republican electors who obviously did not do their duty in 2016...

But you knew all of this already....now didn't you.

Do not believe anyone who is on the left when they characterize us on the right. They lie!
