Columbus Day and the War on Holidays The War on Holidays is not a new scenario. Yule became Christmas and Ostara became Easter. Samhain became Hallowed - Eve aka HALLOWEEN followed by All Saints Day. It is much easier convert the pagan community by changing their holidays Christian Holiday. The holidays may have changed but the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and kissing the mistletoe remain' Now there are folks want change Columbus Day into Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The story is that Columbus was a bad man and so were the Pilgrims thus Thanksgiving should go as well. Do we know the whole story of what happened after “In 92 Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue?” Is it Toxic Guilt to continue "boohooing" about the wrongdoings of ancestors from centuries ago? The facts of Columbus’ life and the mystery surrounding how he got the New World will lead most conclude that history and the lives of those make history are not orchestrated by humans. Humankind has a brutal history and Christopher Columbus was an imperfect human being like most of us. Columbus is not a bad guy or a good guy. He played his particular role in history which changed the direction of mankind. The Spanish Quest for Gold and colonization by the Europeans followed. Europeans unwittingly brought Smallpox to many natives with no immunity to the disease. Conversely, the natives returned the favor by introduced to Europeans a new disease called Syphilis. Don't understand why people are so ready and willing to accuse an Italian guy of being so evil, as if any human is perfect. If anyone is evil it would be people the likes of Epstein, who, by the way, didn't kill himself. Hahaha, had to throw that in there! As far as Turkey Day goes, no matter how it started, should we not take a day, or a moment, to be thankful? Can't change history, though I see people trying to, so why can't we learn from our historical mistakes and move forward, instead of dwelling in the past? Well, I'm going to enjoy whatever holiday I can, going to cook those big feasts to celebrate with my family and if certain people want to sit and brood about the past, let them! It's pretty darn sad though, they could be enjoying what little life is right in front of them, but they choose to be miserable.

I feel even if history is false; if we began to change history we will change so much of it until we are sure to repeat it. Which may change the world as we know it today. . The beginning of life, conception..

History is simply the events of the past, performed by men and women, some good, some bad, some a mixture of both, as are most people. Their actions were often acceptable actions at that point in time. We can't change history, we can't erase it, no matter how many statues or monuments we tear down...... but we can learn from it and hopefully grow better. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Leaf is right there's no war on holidays. There never has been. It's insane the lies Republican Media has produced since the abandonment of the Fairness Doctrine. A day in the life of the laziest president I've ever seen goes like this .. Trump says there's a problem … Trump fixes the problem that doesn't exist … job done ... take a bow. Reality check ... Trump gave 2 trillion dollars in tax cuts to the wealthiest people in the world. AND you get to keep saying Merry Christmas and Happy Thanksgiving. ...
