Trump Commutes Ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich's Corruption Sentence

I am not an expert on government corruption but I am sure it happens a lot on both sides. I wonder how many Democrats will be caught with their hands in the Ukrainian Cookie Jar and get away with it. Ex-Governor Democrat Rod Blagojevich of Illinois was caught with his hand in several cookie jars, he was impeached, removed from office, prosecuted and sentenced to 14 years. He has served 8 years and would have been eligible for release in March of 2023. Trump commuted his sentence thus he's going home to his family a few years early. Personally, I am more concerned about violent offenders who get less time only to be released and re-offend. I am more concerned about the illegal aliens who get sentenced, deported only to sneak across the border to continue committing more crimes. Blagojevich is unlikely to ever hold a public office and after 8 years, I am sure that he gets the message. 14 years was excessive. The time did not fit the time. It was all about politics.

The Republican President released the Democrat Ex-Governor. Right is right and wrong is wrong regardless of the political party.

I agree with your assessment of the situation, but Governor Pritzker doesn't. Perhaps he doesn't like a Republican pardoning a Democrat? They gotta keep that "they" against "us" going at all costs.

People it is simply a softening of public opinion

So you think it is proper for him to release crooks????? GREAT

Then you will not complain when he releases all of his henchmen. RIGHT???

People are so gullible and set up so easily it is unbelievable.

Beside the point---any crook who supports him dose NOTHING wrong.
You better believe it. LOL

He screws justice over and you find reason to agree shame on you.

The Justice System should not be used as a political witch hunt.

Really? That is so incredibly stupid.

I don't think 8 years was enough. The vote to impeach and remove him was 59 to 0. That was not a witch hunt. The breach of trust in public corruption has far reaching consequence. We see that now through Trump's corruption. It's important to take a closer look at the case. This suggests to me that you either have not done that or that you could care less about the consequence of corruption. Ignorance did not lead to this crime. You should also know that AGE should never be a consideration when applying justice.

I agree that pardoning out in the open is ok....however, you cannot possibly conclude that Trump's pardons to date have been appropriate.

It's not fair.
All Americans are equal
Those in jail for lesser crimes should go free also.
Why does the big time crook get preference over the common thief?
I tell you it is not right.
The justice system is screwed up.
Open the doors & let them all out.
We need a national thief (crook) grading system.

Bone spur should appoint Blogojevich to replace Barr as the next AG.
He now knows a lot about the law & is well qualified.

He has now sworn to follow the bone spur.

Prisoners do clean up the streets. What would really be appropriate is to send them to clean up their own mess Most of them are in jail for drug-related offenses so send them back where they came from to pick up poop and dirty needles in San Francisco, Baltimore, New York, Washington D.C. ad infinitum.
