Photo Friday - Philadelphia and Pay Day!!!!! My Goal has been visit one place that I've never been at least once a year. That hasn't happen since the pandemic. I different Meccas and one of them was Philadelphia. This is Quaker Haven. William Penn was given Pennsylvania along with Delaware by the British King. were many part of the colonies where religious choice was dictated by the King or the local Government or Dominant Clergy. I Quaker ancestors were booted out of Massachusetts by the Puritans. This is often dangerous because they were subjected the dangers of the wilderness and Indian attacks. Fortunately, my Quaker Ancestors landed in Virginia where they started own community. Pennsylvania and Delaware became a safe haven for Quakers and other religions practice their faith in safety. In 1776, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights was drafted and ratified assuring Religious Freedom for all United States Citizens. This happened in Philadelphia.        Abracadabra  |

Pennsylvania and Delaware have some of the worst history in the treatment of the Native Americans. Pennsylvania has no state agency that acknowledges or represents Native Americans and no more than a sentence in the history books in their schools even refer to the existence. of the Lenape who were driven off their ancestral lands... The Delaware people in Pennsylvania were oppressed, abused ,tricked and used by the settlers..........Brotherly Love indeed.

There is so much history all along the eastern areas of our country. I wish we had spent more time enjoying it...... but with family to visit and spend time with them, it didn't leave much tourist time. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
