Casper, CRYSTALS, HeArTErs DO NOT determine the Road to Heaven I tend to name my cars. There was Helga One and Helga Two. There was the Colorado Cruiser (Cop Car). I also had what I simply called the CopMobile which was a WV Cop Car. There was VanGogh, Delilia, Monticello Blue, and Mozart. My newest car is Casper W. I have a several times Great Grandfather who migrated to the United States from Germany in the early 1800's who was Casper Winterstein. Last week, I was at Food Lion using the riding cart for shopping because of the problematic hip. It was raining and I really didn't want to ride the cart in the rain thus the plan was to transfer the groceries to a shopping cart and take it to my car. A young man who works at the store asked me if I needed help. "That would be lovely I replied" He noted that I have a new car. I mentioned that it's a Stick Shift which is going to be a real challenge when I get my new hip in November. His response was, "At least you don't have to worry about young people trying to steal it because they don't know how to drive it."  That was my chuckle for the week.The first car that I ever bought was a stick shift. I made a deal with the car salesman that he would teach me how to drive it if I bought it. We went into a parking lot and he showed me the basics. I did get it stalled on the freeway on my way home. The guy behind me came out and gave me some quick directions and I eventually figured it out.   Abracadabra  |

"50's " jargon the car i am having restored is a 53 ford flat head v8 cruiseamatic so i have best of both worlds. yes the young folks of today have no clue how to drive stick. i can see one trying to shift the 5 speed . hahaha asa very young person, my uncle would let me drive his old truck it had starter pedal on the floor with brake and clutch. to start it you had to put one foot on starter pedal at same tiem being on gass pedal. other foot on clutch. don't get me started on very cars with the spark lever on the steering collum hahah THE DAYS WILL END ... TIME WILL BE ETERNAL

All my life I had cars with manual gear shift only. My latest car in Germany, which I bought 2019, is a small VW, manual operation...... As I am in the usa, I told my granddaughter to pick it up and drive it. She learned manual gear shift getting her driver license. Such cars have many advantages, somebody can push it in case it does not want to start. When it breaks down, the car can be pulled to a garage. I don't need all the modern, sensitive technology. Only over here, I have an automatic vehicle. Happiness is when what you think, what you say, what you do are in harmony - M. Gandhi
