Hi Five Marines or Other Armed Forces!!!!! Insults Not Acceptable!!!!!

Last Week, I was cashiering for a Customer. A young black woman in a Military Uniform. "You guys are the real heros and need to be told that." She smiled and replied, "We are glad to serve."

Bloggers even if they are from Canada have a constitution right to call Marines "Pro Life Marine Killers." Marines, Soldiers and Sailors have made tremendous sacrifices to assure that she has that right. Canada does benefit from the Grunt Work done by our United States Defense as do many other Nations.

We would all be screwed without a Strong Defense because there are crazies who would do us Harm if we allowed it. The Folks who are part of that defense are our . My , my niece and their peers.

During the Vietnam Era - Young Men - Our Brothers, Husbands and a few female relatives were not treated with respect when they came home. Many were drafted and sent there involutarily. Agree or disagree with the war treating them with disrespect is just plain wrong.

star, my title was not meant to be disrespectful, nor insult military service.

The 'killer' term was illustrating another member's reference that I countered in my narrative. That is why it was put in 'quotations.' If you cared to read (and fully understand)what I wrote, I was illuminating some of the Marine members' opinions about protecting life, no matter how small the speck, so 'killer' Marine would be an oxymoron in that sense.

I friggin' wish people would read and make a serious attempt at COMPREHENDING a blog before submitting a reactionary rebuttal. If they're confused, ask for clarification.
You never bothered to reply to my blog, never mind ask a question about what I was trying to say if you were confused.

FiretrUCK man, I get frustrated and damn mad at those who can't understand anything beyond "The cat sat on the mat," then blab-off, with another misplaced comment.

....or did you just read the title and jump to conclusions?

My titles are often contrary and tongue-in-cheek to the message body.

[post 91343] was too serious an issue to be TIC per se, but it was a stab at trying to get people to think - spark some philosophical debate through an analogy.

That analogy was not meant to show disprespect to those in the military, past, present or in future.

BTW, many countries similarly forget to recognize the current "grunt work" by Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan. We've just lost our 100th soldier.

Long live America
and all of our fallen soldiers
along with all of those precious innocent lost souls
of all the unwanted children
who never had the chance to breathe the freedom
that we all share
because their lives were snuffed out
before they even had a chance
to ever voice their opinion
because some did not even care

God bless America
God bless our armed forces
We might not be the perfect nation
but our intentions are always right.

Of course some will always disagree
And many die needlessly
But when it comes down to it
It is always us
that has to fight the fight

God bless America
God bless America
God bless America

(This was not meant to be a poem of any sort, just ramblings of where my mind had taken me when done reading this blog.)It brought sadness to surface,I believe from souls of the departed, transmitted to thought.Feel the peace the "lost" hadn't gotten from this world.Do not fight over the lost, it causes discord to them.Instead, live and learn.....for them. Those who do not remember, are doomed to repeat !!

I just re-read the blog in case I'd misunderstood it...and couldn't see any insults, in fact FE was defending marines, not insulting them. Insults did indeed fly, but not from FE, she is not responsible for comments made by other people.

As for the insulting comments...they came from both "sides". I don't give a damn if Phoenix and 60min were or are Marines...in the blogs they speak as themselves and for themselves...they do not represent any belief or opinion but their own. And, if they do that in an overbearing, patronising, boorish way...as Phoenix invariably does...and especially towrd women...should expect to be treated in the same way. It is obvious to all who read their comments, that they are completely unaware that women have as much capacity for intelligence as men. That attitude, in itself, is an insult to women.

I know that older men were socialised to see themselves as superior and view women as a sort of sub-species, put on Earth for their comfort. That's pure myth, born with the Adam and Eve story, but maybe it's hard to shake off. Whatever, the fact is, if they want to be respected they really need to educate themselves into the 21st century, where intelligent, knowledgeable women are accepted as equals.

Discussion and debate are the most valuable tools of learning we have...if we cannot use them in a civil and respectful manner without personal insult, or if we think they are just argument and disagreement then we should not enter into them.

So a Marine reads the Title (Killer Marine) and what's he suppose to conclude? Why not write a blog about pro-life blacks and use the N-Word in the Title.

A Marine with different political views from yours is not an oxymoron at all. That Marine is simply utilizing the constitutional right that he has fought for.
