Monticello and Other Meccas

Last week, I was in the breakroom at Sam's Club. The C0-Workers were talking about places that they've always wanted to visit. I found it very ironic that for years my Mecca has been Monticello and now, years later Monticello is just a few miles from from my job.

I commented to my co-workers. "I've always wanted to go visit Monticello. I think there is a change that I will actually be able to see Montecello." Laughter filled the room.

It doesn't appear that I will be going with Mr. Joe. I love Historical Places. When we went to Montpellier (James Madison's Place) with Mr. Joe's Mother and Sister, I noticed that Mr. Joe didn't seem too thrilled. Later he told me that his Father was a history teacher and they spent summers visiting obscure historical places when he would rather be playing football.

Alas, I will find a girlfriend who loves history much as I do and we will do Monticello together.

After Monticello will be other Meccas. Maybe the New Yankee Stadium although Mr. Joe might like the Old One Better. I might have to beebop over to the Statue of Liberty and Grant's Tomb afterwards. I just hope my Higher Power doesn't make me move to New York to See the New Meccas.
