New Female Friends

I have always been privledged to have had some really good female friends. I still do but all of my female freiends are attached or do not want to be and settled in their lives. When I got involved in my last LTR of 8 years all of my single female friends went their separate ways, why do we do that let our single friends go when we become a we? Now I find myself single and looking, all of my friends are in a different place in their lives so no female friends to go to dinner or a movie with. No female freiends to have over for dinner and to watch a DVD. Just no single female friends so how does one go about making new friends who have the same things in common after 50? It used to be I met people at work but now work from a home office. I think it is just harder to make new friends after 50, do you? Any ideas for places to meet new single female friends after 50? I've made some good new friends on this site but due to distance it isn't the same. Would love to hear from any of you with ideas? Thanks

Ladynads..I have lost a few friends over the years as well....not because of me being a "we" either. Just that people move on and go in different directions. I have not made any new friends of late and think it is partially to do with the fact that I am so busy working all the time. I keep up with a few good friends on the net and that is about it. You might want to join a singles club in your area or hang out at a coffee place regularly..sometimes you run into people there...maybe one day you and I can connect along the way...I am thinking that I might head south one of these days but will probably go where my niece lives close to Bend, OR. Think that is the other direction from you...Shartaun..
