A rocky road ahead

It is a rocky road ahead
And I can't see beyond the bend;
A winding road that others dread
But I will walk it to the end.

A string of lonely one-night-stands,
In seedy joints and smoke-filled bars-
That is the bane of all rock bands
And their seductive loud guitars.

Forgettable and boring gigs
In some small godforsaken town
And trapped in cheap and shabby digs
Can really get your spirits down.

I thank my lovely gal, Susanne
Who has been steadfast as a rock;
Baby, I tell you, "Ya da man!"
For placing all your rocks in hock.

There comes a time, I'll have to end
The wild debauchery and lies;
That's when the drinks stop flowing and
The music ultimately dies.

Live today as if it is your last
For tomorrow will soon be in the past
