I've found it! I've found it! I have found it! After so many years of searching, I have finally found it! Or maybe, it found me. You see, my second recently took a trip to Iceland. It was very cold and there were only 4 hours of daylight a day but they enjoyed themselves thoroughly. In fact, they think it is their best holiday so far (her friends and she go on a short holiday every December). In Iceland, they were riding through the snow, watching geysers, admiring waterfalls and scaling the glaziers when one evening (or is it morning?) they chanced upon the ends of the rainbow! They were amazed and excited and took some photos. So now, I have booked my plane ticket to Iceland with the exact locations of the ends of the rainbows locked in my mind. It is a good thing that my and her friends do not know that at the ends of the rainbow lie two huge pots of gold! I am sorry but I have to be secretive about my trip. If word leaks out, it may spark a gold rush as wild as that of the Klondike or, the Iceland government may impose some kind of mining tax or other to get a share of my fortune. I have got to go now. When I return, I shall be a very rich man! Pic by Lee Siu Wei Note:- In the top photo, if you look carefully, you can see both ends of the rainbow. Lee p.s. If you were to come across that leprechaun, please tell him he can stop running now as I have stopped searching for him. Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past |

Once saw the end of the rainbow here at Fort Lewis, WA...actullay it raveled along beside me for awhile. BAck in the days of no photo phones. Last I saw of it was it was resting on the roof of the Class Six store ( Liquior store to civilians).

Very nice photos for sure Lee. I don't want to pop your bubble, but they are known as solar parhelia or sun dogs. It is formed when the sun shines through ice crystals. You may not find gold, but you will be rich with memories of the beauty of Iceland. Have a safe trip.

What sun dogs? What halos around the sun? It has got to be a rainbow; it must be a rainbow! Please let it be a rainbow! If it is a rainbow then I am sure to find the pots of gold; Merlin told us that and Enid Blyton confirmed it. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past

Thank you folks for all your comments and you can be sure, I will share my fortune with you. Oh, I have just received an e-mail from the Fairy Godmother. She wrote that solar parhelia, sun dogs and sun halos are all classified as Rainbows. This is because ice crystals are considered to be dry rain. I love you, Fairy Godmother! Hi Lee: I always heard that Iceland and Greenland were given deceptive names by the explorers for the purpose of enticing or repelling settlers. They called it Iceland but it was really lush and green, and they called it Greenland but it was really full of ice and snow. Iceland looks cold and barren to me, but I do see both ends of the rainbow.
