White Bill

I met this fellow a few days ago at the Lake Gardens while at an Orchid Show. Unlike the previous bird, this one has a white-coloured bill and was just as noisy.

Very nice. Interesting birds are something I miss since moving out here. Have to be satisfied with vultures!

Hi sw,

Vultures? Do you live in the desert?

We usually have a good shot at explaining why such oddities evolve in nature, is there an explanation for this upper bony protrusion?
Hi Moot,

The only explanation that I can think of is so that it can be loud (when it blows its horn).
