Aloofness  Up on the hill a pine tree stands alone, unnoticed by us all; morose and saddened, as it fends beneath a gray sky, unconcerned. And wishing, when its journey ends, of finding solace ‘neath the earth. At dawn, there is no morning song to greet the dewy, gloomy land because the birds refuse to throng a lone tree far and high above. Within the mist that gathers strong a quiet hill forlornly sits. A leaf aloft goes wafting by as strong winds pound the hill and tree; it’s free at last to search the sky for butterflies and birds and bees; those things that it has yet to eye since springing up among the boughs. A man cannot stand all alone no matter what his strength may be; for when the winds of fate has blown, tears only bring back memories.
