I came across these plants on Mount Dandenong. They look like the ginger plant but I am not sure.

I agree. The long blade-like leaves are missing. However, the "fruit" looks like that of the ginger after the flowers have dropped off.

I would like to see them in blossom. I've never seen this plant around here.

I am sure there are wild ginger plants in Honduras. Imagine small and delicate flowers covering this "fruit".

I've seen something similar but much smaller and not as colorful after the flower dries up but can't quite remember what it is or exactly where I saw it.
