 Gosh Lee, even the small boats are colorful. Seafood near the ocean always tastes so good.

I think the colours are for identification. These small boats are fishing boats. The fishermen go out to sea in these boats. I don't know how much they can catch.
On another note, I have been told there is practically no crime on the island. The police are very strict. If you are drunk, they will put you in the cell till you sober up.

 I think strict law enforcement is a good deterrent to crime.
We know a couple, Louise and Phillip Lim, who own the Asia Café in Knoxville, Tennessee. They have been traveling to visit family and friends in Malaysia and has posted beautiful pictures of the area. Some were night photos of Singapore and pictures of a huge rain forest.
All the beautiful colorful sights reminded me of your lovely photos. There is so much ugliness in our world, it is refreshing to see and enjoy some of the beauty, even just in photos.
