Someone has taken away my sense of humour

Having lost so many friends and relatives, I am acutely aware of my own mortality. As such, I have decided to wake up every morning with a smile on my face, thankful that I have another day and determined to make it a happy one.
Lately, however, the smile is gone; someone has taken away my sense of humour and, as you are all aware, without it, one cannot be happy.
Now, who can that be?

Can it be the missus? Has she taken it away in retaliation because I do not enjoy the shopping trips as much as she does? How can I be happy and cheerful when I have to be on my feet for hours on end with only the shopping bags as my companions?

Or, is it my daughters? They have recently fought over a compact disc and are now engaged in a "cold" war. Unfortunately, I have to remain silent and wait for the war to end because I cannot be perceived to be on either side; that would only aggravate the situation.

Maybe, it is my (he is the eldest). He seems a bit preoccupied of late. It could be because of his impending move to France. My and I are pretty close now compared to when he was younger.
I suppose it is my fault but, unlike others, I am not born to be a father; I have to learn to be one. Furthermore, I was only 27 when he was born and, as I am one of those who grow old faster than they grow up, I was practically a then.

Some of you may not know this but a sense of humour is priceless at my age. So will whoever has taken it away return it to me as soon as possible, please?

Hi Lee,
That sense of humour of yours is hopefully just hiding. This isn't the happiest time of year for a lot of people. Christmas and the accompanying celebrations seem to trigger a depression for some people, so if you haven't found yours soon... I would suggest you take the appropriate action.

Wishing you and yours the joy of the season

Hi Lee, I got married when I was 27 and certainly wasnt ready for it. I had my first son 2 years later.
We all have good days and bad days. Sometimes its not easy to keep smiling, and always be happy. The best we can do is to try and be happy every day, and I make the effort to do that.
Keep smiling Lee and be glad you are still above ground!!!!!

Hi mrsjoe,
Thank you. Now that you have mentioned it, maybe part of it was still around. Luckily, the friend who borrowed it has returned it to me so the smile is back.

Hi classy lady,
I think you are right. It has been raining these few days and I guess I must have left the window open so the wind has blown it away. Anyway, the weather is fine now and you know what, it is lying just outside my door. So, everything is fine now.

Hi 1750wg2,
I have found it back, thank you. This isn't the happiest time for a lot of us over here too but we'll survive. Merry Christmas!

Hi Robyn,
Were you not ready for marriage or to be a mother? But you were 29. Surely, you cannot be one of those who grows old faster than they grow up like me. Yes, a positive attitude helps a lot but a sense of humour is vital.

Hi Rose,
So, you are the one! I am glad that you returned it just in time; I was about to ask Santa for help to get it back and if I did, he will certainly find it and you will not be receiving a present from him this Christmas. I am sorry that my sense of humour did not fit you. That's because I am an introvert (not my fault that I am a middle child)and you are an extrovert. My type of humour is the shy, subtle type whereas yours is the bold, frank type and I find yours funny.
Right after you returned it, the "cold" war ended, my son is himself again and best of all, my wife has decided to give up shopping! (with me. She says she prefers to go alone so that she can shop in peace without me bothering her).
Merry Christmas!

Lee

p.s. I have put in a good word for you with Santa so don't be surprised if your present from him this year is a brand new sense of humour.

Hi flakes,
What's that? You didn't know how to be a mother? How can that be? My wife, who is younger than me, still wants to "mother" me with "don't do this" and "don't do that". Aargh!!!!!
I have always thought that the reason why women prefers "rascals" to perfect men is so that they can "mother" these men to change.
It's true! If only you could have known me before I married.

Hi summer,
I have got it back already. Rose borrowed it. You do have a sense of humour but not like mine. Sense of humour are very individualistic - each one has his own just like character.
