I ice skated once, but roller skated a lot, wanted to be a pro at 16...The only time I ice skated was at age 16, when a huge, huge puddle of water on our property froze solid...couldn't let that opportunity pass by...lol...

Hi ladyangelula,

It's good to see you again. Over here, a huge puddle of water would probably turn muddy. Not only have I not ice-skated, I have also never roller skated.
So, did you turn pro or not?

Hi Lee...no, my parents couldn't afford the lessons I needed...in my time, skating was not considered to be a profitable career, sad...I went to work as a 5 and 10 cent store clerk, retired as a grocery manager in the Defense Commissary Agency (DECA)...for years I bought groceries for the Pensacola Region Commissary (9 stores), loved my career...

Hi ladyangelula,
Times were bad back then and a lot of parents could not afford to provide much. My parents were poor too. It is good that you had a great career and can look back with pride.
