.... I in know way was trying to make this seem that the plant didn't care about the community and I also know that this plant and many others have been around for a long time ... I read that this plant had been in business since 1927 , maybe I am wrong about how long this has been in business .. Believe me this was never meant to be a political blog , if you read the title it says the Facts ... I also know that the school , rest home and the apartment building was built long after the plant was where it was ... I am just trying to point out that if you have one of this plants in your back yard , you need to find out what it has as far as the ammonia nitrate, just as this plant had well over the legal amount on hand many others might also and if I lived near one I would certainly like to know if that danger exist where I live ..... the Government I am sure will be checking more closely about what this 6500 other plants have on hand .... Just a tragedy that should of never happened .... I don't like the idea that you think you have the right to tell someone to butt out , blogs are open to all ... I am sorry that this happened in your back yard and all the hurt that this community will be going though for some time , but others have the right to find out if they are in danger . I have but one other point to make here , does this not open the door for someone that would want to hurt other and a easy way to do it ... Read all my other blogs, I don't believe you will find a political blog in them , this was for others and there safety ........ Being human is difficult,.... .... The ammonium nitrate it had was 27 tons ... 54,000 lbs. .... 1350 times over legal limit ... This would make it burn very hot ..... as to what caused the fire it is not know at this time ..... They were fined in 1985 10,500 for not having a license for the anHydrous ammonia, they appeal the decision and fine was cut in half ..... never checked to know what the anHyhrouse ammionia was used for...... Once again sorry that all the people in your area are dealing with something almost unimaginable ......
