There is a wonderful video on StupidVideos of a baby eating a pickle http://seniorfriendfinder.com#39233e:
The look on the baby's face says all that needs to be said about how a bitter thing or person makes us feel.

If I were described as "bitter" I would feel hurt--it implies an attitude that moves from "independent and assertive" to "alone and bitchy."

I guess there are enough different definitions for all of us *LOL* I always thought of bitter along the lines of resentful, and I often feel that way about politicians, in general. I appreciate your view, and I will never think of you as bitter

I think some people are bitter..and with every right to be..they feel
let~down, overlooked, beaten~up by life..something that I don't find
surprising..given that our government seems to care more about the
upper~middle class and rich..and ignores the lower~middle class and
poor. I don't perceive bitter to be a put~down either..especially when used in the context that Obama used..I do think that Hillary is
just using anything/everything she can throw out there to try to make
Obama look bad..I only see her as being elite..not Obama. I've felt
bitter before myself, nothing wrong with that in my opinion~just human.

Distasteful, painful, unpalatable, difficult to accept...those are some of Webster's definitions and I think they aptly define the presidential campaign as it was early on. Dolphin, I agree with you as well. We do need a strong President that we can be proud of and have faith in. But, even if that were so; there is still the bi-partison, power-hungry Congress to contend with.

Ed...thank you for the opportunity/venue to voice my opinion.
