Fresh Fruit Drinks for a hot Summer Day

Nothing is best for a hot summer day, or any day, than to have a delicious fresh fruit drink with lots of crushed ice. Along these many years, I have made many kinds of drinks to enjoy with my and friends. At home, I make a fresh fruit drink every day. This keeps me from drinking too much soda. It is absolutely much healthier to have a natural drink for dinner.
I would like to share some of my favorite recipes with you.
Remember that you can use your favorite sweetener instead of sugar.

Rice Cinnamon Drink

1 cup of rice (soak rice in 1 qt. of water 2 hrs.)
3 sticks of cinnamon (soak with rice)
1 can of carnation evaporated milk
1 can of sweetened milk*
1 gallon of water
crushed ice

* You may want to use sugar or your sweetener desired to suit your taste.

Once you have soaked the rice with the cinnamon sticks, put in the blender, add the cans of sweetened milk and evaporated milk with the cinnamon sticks. Blend well and use strainer as you are pouring content into a large pitcher with the rest of the water. Stir it well and add lots of crushed ice.
Enjoy!!

Mango Drink

3 fresh mangoes or 3 cups of frozen mangoes.
1 cup of sugar
1 gallon of water
Crushed ice

Wash mangoes. Peel the mangoes and cut it into chunks. Put them in the blender with the sugar and add water to blend well.
Use a strainer to pour into the pitcher. Add lots of crushed ice. Delicious!!!

Strawberry Drink

3 cups of fresh strawberries, or frozen.
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 gallon of water

Put the strawberries in the blender, the sugar and sufficient water to blend.
Once blended, use a strain to pour into a large pitcher, add lots of crushed ice.

Fresh Orangeade
6 oranges
1 cup of sugar
1 gallon of water
Crushed ice

Squeeze juice out of the oranges, add it to the gallon of sweetened water and stir well. Add crushed ice.

Jamaica Drink
1 cup of jamaica flower
1/2 gallon of water
1 1/2 of cups of sugar

Rinse the jamaica flowers. Put them in a pot with 1/2 gal. of water and boil them at a low flame.
Once the flowers have come to a boil, strain them into a large pitcher, add the rest of the water and add sugar or your favorite sweetener.
Add crushed ice and enjoy!!
This is one of my favorite drinks.

Guava Drink (Guayabas)

6 fresh guavas
1 cup of sugar
1 gallon of water
Crushed ice

Wash the guavas. Place in the blender, add the sugar and sufficient water to blend.
Strain the liquid into a large pitcher and add the rest of the water and the crushed ice.

I hope you all want to try some of these refreshing drinks. They are simple and really good. Remember that sharing a meal or a drink, brings people closer.
All drinks may also be diluted with as much more water as you like.
