"ONE" of a Kind... One of a "KIND"

Our eyes, look to see who we are
Defining ourselves, through our own eyes
Somewhere out there, is a view from afar.
It's a mistaken identity, of the unwise.

Your mind can't see you, with open eyes
Can't see the color of your own skin, or where God resides
Can 't see if you're ugly, or you're beautiful either
Seeing it in others..... defines it neither

Close your eyes, to see who you are.
and find yourself, in your own mind
Don't search for yourself, and where you fit in
You're just ONE of a KIND
When you look within.

After you do.. peace it will bring
If everyone else, would do the same thing.

This is MY thought of the day.

I don't know if I'm black or white....I'm a blind man when I close my eyes.
if the color of my skin doesn't define me... Then why should it define anyone else.

WE are defined behind our eyes... not in front of them.
So, I'm asking people to close their eyes.. and try to see who they are.

Good thoughts, JC. Sadly, some may take this as pointed at "the other guy".

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Thank you...

Yes. I never intended it.. to point at others. It points at ME, and each and EVERYONE of us. It doesn't matter which way you think about things. It's all the same.. just a different look of a view from afar.
Black and white is just a color of a person skin.. it's not the intent... It's just an example. Ugliness and beauty has lot more to do with it... than what people will assume is the black and white of it.

Well..I don't know if you are just ribbing me.

there is a difference for me in writing my poetry... if you want to call it that.

My poetry comes from my thoughts, and I am always included in them. they are about me, and come from me.

when this poem came to mind... It totally came from how I look at things. I closed my eyes and said "who am I....".. It was hard to tell, without viewing a comparison.
But I found it interesting...not that I came up with an answer..but how I posed the question. I don't know..if others do it.. so i pose the question to everyone... yet no one in specific, except me.

the intended question is for me to answer.. the intended question is posed to everyone.

Yes I understand..

But my reason is not that ..

My reason is to judge the heart and soul and character, of ourselves before we compare them to our judgment of others.
