Love and Acceptance.... LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE Maybe some have always known it Maybe others have figured it out It took me a long time to do it But that's what this poem's about The grass is always greener beyond the hills where it “Lies” The sky can never be “blue” Like the the “blue” in someones “eyes” Success isn't measured by failure When a measure .. it shouldn't be Yet if measuring oneself is a failure Then failure is all there can be Beauty is only a comparison By the have's and the have not's But if beauty is only a comparison Then beauty you haven't got Intelligence measured by I.Q. Is just numbers in your head But common sense measures what you do It's “smarts” tells where you are led. The deception of perception Between reality and fantasy If you don't need what you already have You'll never be..... what you need to be So when you think about what “should” be Or what you'd like to be When you think about what “could” be And who you want to be Love and accept yourself, to get it all. You don't have to go very far For all... is at your fingertips IF YOU JUST... BE WHO YOU ARE |
