The "Shutdown"

I want you to understand how I think about things..

First what I think about "The Shutdown"... My gosh.. it's the first time Trump ever did anything for me..
As you may know... I work for the IRS...and I have been put on furlough..I was trying to volunteer for a layoff before the shut down happened.. but the shutdown is better than a layoff..
I will get paid for time furlough.. when I come back up.. so I don't have to work and still get paid...Wow.. I have never been that lucky.. I have been on layoff for previous shutdowns.

Now I'm sure that pisses some of you off.. but again you get pissed off for the wrong reasons.

What you don't understand is the IRS is a year around operation...and for the past nine years there hasn't been a WORSE time for the IRS to be shut down.
The preparation for the 2018 tax year.. with all the changes.. is going to be noticeable by the public.. The preparation delay is going to delay the whole operation, during tax season, for the time of the shutdown. If it goes beyond the 15th of January it's going to be significant.

Me.. well I just work there.. so I take the free pay in lieu of the problems.

Well I assume you'll get paid but I read yesterday that for the first time that is seen as questionable. I haven't lost hope that congress will just see the handwriting on the WALL and override a veto. I doubt it though...too many new members want a say in this. With 90 new members this congress will be very different and now that Trump has been identified as a felony co-conspirator its going to be really, really rough....LOL

oh! you got me there.. i must be lying....
Please don't tell the IRS.. they must have missed that in my background check.
Please don't tell the bank.... when they receive my direct deposits..
Please don't tell my health insurance.. I have instead of Medicare
Please don't tell my retirement fund.

Let's see... i say i'm 68.. you say you're 95....So who's Lying...Me, you, or the IRS.

Do you know anybody that works at the IRS? that's doubtful for two reasons.. first of most IRS employees don't offer up they work there.. Second...Because all employees are told.. NOT to.. Specifically.. the IRS frowns on any employee. talking about the IRS on social media..

But I don't listen....When it comes to the truth..nobody is going tell me not to say it.

    Quoting  :

You have already proven.. you talk out of your azz...like your shit doesn't stink..
And there you go again.. another brain fart..

I don't speak for me.. Like I'm a "special case'...

although I don't Know every single Department in the government .. I'm pretty sure it all works the same for everybody.

First you don't listen to the news very well...The news indicates people will not be receiving paychecks.. that true.. but that's not the same as not being entitled to compensation.

Furlough means Leave.....and leave means pay
Layoff.. means no pay

This is not a layoff. but a furlough..
The shutdown... means government employees effected don't receive paychecks...but as soon as the budget is approve they do receive pay. Both those that are deemed essential. and work without pay, and those that are furloughed without pay.

I would say it's not a guarantee that the government won't change it... and say it's a layoff, and not a furlough...But it's NEVER happened in the past.
