"Third Party" talk

i don't have a crystal ball that determines the future...but I do have an eye on trends, and what motivates them..
We once live in a political country where messaging and winning were synonymous. Having the winning was the goal.. Trump changed that....Singularly, winning became the goal. Messaging, Truth, transparency, and higher moral ground became obsolete. Winning dictated the messaging.
For "Trumpies" It began with messaging of hate , lies and fear...effective but unsustainable.. Now, it's divide and conquer, segregate and exclude, it's a numbers game of how, in a democracy a minority view can win. They will see that if voting restriction don't work..then a third party of traditional republicans could work in their favor..by taking away moderate Democrats who could not be controlled with hate, lies and fear. A third party would appear to benefit both Trumpies and progressive liberal. A new Party.. to Thwart the efforts of Liberal progressive Democrats. And give moderates a way out of voting democrat..
From a Liberal progressive standpoint, this would also appear to be an advantage.

The failure in ideas, of both Trumpies and Liberals is that gaining power is not the same thing as holding on to power.. Holding on is a much harder task. When three different groups battle it out.. one third can win against the other two.. but when "one" wins it will need to battle a united enemies of the other two thirds.
Hate, lies, and fear... is unsustainable for Trumpies.. If democracy prevails.
Divide and conquer is unsustainable for Trumpies..if democracy prevails..
They are here today, but gone tomorrow..
The fight is between Progressive liberals and moderates for our Democracy..

Where it gets tricky is which group has the best chance of long term success..
My opinion is Moderates.. and even more important.. conservative moderates.
Conservative moderates have a far better chance of taking over the democrat party.. than Progressive liberals, do of taking over moderate democrats

Once this country gets by the hate, lies, and fear....and Democracy prevails. We will find the majority of this country to be truthful moderate conservatives.

I agree with all of this Cricket. What I will say is that I held out hope that the competence, and honesty we've seen so far which is far beyond my most optimistic hopes would bury Trump and the holdouts would, some begrudgingly, conclude gee, life is so much when we're normal, warts and all. But, the goons (my characterization not yours) are who we thought they were all along.

I want to remind you that I wrote well before the election itself that I believed democracy was gone in America. We came within a whisker of losing completely on Jan 6. Nancy Pelosi, thank God, saved us from ourselves by getting that vote done that night. I think Trump was preparing to invoke martial law 1 minute after midnight and that my friend, was THE end...period.

I'm sure you remember the movie Hunt for Red October. There was a scene in the movie where Sean Connery turned his submarine to directly head toward Captain Tupalo's boat. The objective was to allow the offending torpedo to hit Connery's sub before it could arm. The strategy worked, BUT, Connery said, "Captain Tupalo won't make that mistake again. The republicans won't make blow it next time, and if the threat is Trump again martial law is how they kill democracy and we won't get it back...not in our lifetime and there will be violence.

What is happening with the party, and Trump is almost a carbon copy of what the Nazi's did in the 1930's. Too many Americans don't know the history to the degree they need to know. If they did, the landscape would be a LOT different.

I URGE you to read Thomas Friedman's recent columns.

I hope Cheney and Romney take this problem on. America is on the ropes. It's not poor leadership by Biden. But I fear that he's going to make the BIG mistake...and not kill off the filibuster and pass HR1, urgent economic legislation, immigration reform, police reform, protect the social safety net and disqualify Trump from ever holding public office again. Failure to accomplish all that, and it is a lot, and we will stand on very, very thin ice.

We're in bigger trouble than anybody realizes. I'm rooting for Liz, put her on TV every day is fine with me.

You have to get off the ideological bandwagon.. To see what's actually happening..

Trump people have no ideology..they are done.. stick a fork in them...

You can't play the ideological bandwagon game.. Then switch the horses that pulling you wagon

I paticularly don't like ideologue.. because things change..truthfulness and truth are my shield and armor. So I'm on Liz Cheney side...But are YOU really?

I wrote this to a friend who thinks pretty like you..

So many people who could be poster children for conservatism...Now They seem to appear on milk cartons..
Liz cheney is one of most conservative representatives.. If one would choose to actually listen..She hasn't abandon it.. she has proven beyond a doubt, she may be the only representative who's conservatism is not cheaply bought nor a total matter of self interest. She is not a "friend" of Liberals.. but potentially, ideologically, their worst nightmare.. that actually could come true.

I think the problem is what it has mostly always been. You can see what is right in front of you and its not hard to see that. But you cannot see the forest clearly lacking vision allowing for understanding of the electorate, specifically their vulnerability and how it evolves. It's a perplexing thing and I've tried to explain it to you. I think you want to understand but you are already at the finish line without actually running the entire race. History, Thomas Friedman, Madeline Albright and others have all laid this out for citizens but people won't take the time to think it through. I suspect its because they just don't want to, preferring to run across the street without looking and hoping for the best. If ever there were someone who is not ideological that would be me...but you can talk about truth all you wish but its a worthless argument if you ignore the path to the facts.

You missed the point of my blog....You see the error but not the devious. If the fox is the enemy of the wolf.....You still don't let the fox in the chicken coop.
If you believe , like I do .. that Trump is done......He has lost..
If you can see that Trump supporters will never be on your side.
If you can see that Republicans are between a rock a hard place...In regards to viability, because of it. They have few choices..
Liz Cheney is their way back.. Liz Cheney will not only bring back the suburbs, and other "lost" republicans, and independents, and even some moderate Democrats. Because you will let her...
Liz Cheney hasn't changed her spots.. The Republican party is changing..So you won't be able to notice it when all is said and done.

Is it possible? That the wolf and the fox.. have made a deal? So you will let the fox in to the chicken coop, and the wolf will share in the spoils?
You have much to fear, my friend... but it's not from Trump

For the Republican party....WINNING IS EVERYTHING....If they move the goal post but lose the game...They don't quit...They change the game.
This is the ONLY way they can throw Trump under the bus..and keep the bus and the people in it, still rolling
.

The truth is not a reward.....It's expected.. One doesn't get to "use" the truth

Don't be fooled by the truth

Telling The truth is not a badge of honor a liar can wear..

Don't you see how surreal it all is?

Trump tried to turn the truth into fakes news...Didn't work so good. His ego got in the way..

Republican tried to use the idea that finding a part lie...makes it a whole lie

What surreal about it now...is to make "fake news" from the truth....It's the way it can work....It will become the way of the Republican Party. That's the game changer.
Finding a "part" truth to make it the whole Truth.

Liz Cheney's part truth about Trump.. doesn't make her truthful...doesn't make it the whole truth.

People like you won't be able to see it coming.....Because you do the same thing.
Trump is DONE.. Stick a fork in him.....We overestimate ourselves and underestimate them.. We are not that smart by seeing the obvious, and they are not that stupid by missing the obvious
There is rhyme and reason for keeping you afraid of Trump....It opens a back door for them..so they can lure you into the bus.
They are going to hold you to it... NEVER Trump..and ANYBODY but Trump

They couldn't convince us.. that Georg W Bush, John McCain , and Mitt Romney was what was BEST for our country.. There was no "reason" they could use to convince US..

Don't you think it strange.. that because of Trump, .We are now ready to bestow sainthood on Bush, McCain and Romney?

That Trump will not be their savior ..but the excuse to do the things they are doing?
How to NOT be accountable for what they want....So ask yourself... who's using who?

Can't you see what's coming.. when they throw Trump under the bus?

It's going to happen..but not before they get ALL his supporters in line. That Trump is no longer a choice.. but Republicanism is..

I tend to be amazed at the partisanship....The attempts to reach the bottom of the barrel.. The failure to find the commonality... The hyperbole about how bad the other side really is.

One usually has two choices when that happens... first to try and prove it wrong...or second, to show them what bad really is..Sometimes the second choice is the only choice
