But I Said No I said I would not do this again – spend time in home improvement stores going through the seemingly hundreds of items that are almost the same but…......... I ended up spending the entire week-end visiting all within driving distance in search of the perfect sink. After years of maintaining a home and nesting I decided enough was enough and moved into an RV, deciding that I would just make do with whatever I had considering only functionality. I happily existed and co-existed in a variety of alternative living situation. Loved every moment, particularly the freedom from spending endless hours on cosmetics and preferences of appliances and gadgets. Then came my present challenge – “make this house a home”. The artist and designer in me only saw part of it - a blank slate on which to create. I completely forgot that the rest of the stuff but I am working with a techie who is much more particular about things like appliances and fixtures, analyzing every detail. I have no specific requirements for these things other than they serve the purpose for which they are intended and aesthetically fade into the background. However I soon learned about the search for the perfect sink. OMG, you’d think we were buying the perfect pair of shoes or something. I could not believe how many variables there or how difficult having something particular in mind makes things. By Sun. PM it was obvious that the perfect sink was not available and in fact could not even be ordered. With only one compromise a new, shinny, blemish free sink is sitting here just waiting to be installed. Wish I could say I am back to painting and designing but unfortunately I need to complete a supply run to my residence facility which includes picking up some hardware items and car parts !!!!!!!!!!!! Life is never free of these boring details. Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Spirit: I was at Lowe's yesterday picking up paint for my bedroom redo. I love hardware stores and could spend endless hours there. I do my own maintenance in my home and will attempt most any problem. I've replaced sinks in our old house. I won't attempt a whole bathroom or kitchen remodel without the assistance of an expert. I do know my limits. After I finish the bedrooms I would like to put a glaze on my kitchen cabinets to give them some character. They appear a bit bland to me. Christmas before last my hubby got me a rolling toolbox for the garage. No kitchen gadgets for me. LOL. Good luck on your projects. Spirit, WOW! I'm impressed. You even know what car parts to pick up. The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page: St. Augustine
