Changing Roles

When I travel I usually leave my info with one of my but guess I am getting a bit lax because the last couple of trips one or more of them have been with me. Also I am traveling a normal commercial airline and staying at a hotel this trip so didn't think about it.

I got a phone call from my oldest tonight. She wanted me to e-mail her my trip itinerary. Her reason? If she hears about a plane crash she wants to know if it is the one I am on and if there is some sort of emergency that makes the international news she wants to know if it is where I am staying. "I'm going to tell you what I tell Zack (her age )I want to know where to start looking for you."

She was not reassured when I reminded her that she is my emergency contact with the airline and on my passport so in the event of an emergency she would hear from the either the airline or state department. I also told her that my phone and computer would be with me and working. Her answer? "What good will that do if you can't answer?"

Guess this makes me officially a again. Hope that doesn't mean I will have problems traveling across international borders without my parents.

Looks like I am a again!

Whoever told you that you are not a teenager any more - so what if you are a Mom, a grand mom and a great grand mom.

Bachchas (that is Hindi for children - only the pluralisation is from English) love you indeed - enjoy it because you love them as much if not more.

Have a great vacation.

Did they also tell you not to talk to strangers? Oh wait, away from home and on a trip, most people will be strangers. Enjoy yourself and remember the next time your kids go somewhere!

It happens to us all if we live long enough, we become our children's children. I seem to recall that I behaved the same way with my parents.

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Oh they hate me going out with anyone new - or even the thought that I might break up when in a relationship - except for one guy they could not stand.

My kids are like that too. If I am busy and don't answer right away they have a fit - What is voice mail for anyway?

They do for sure - just have a bit of difficulty with the fact that I'm not a typical grandma.

I never had that problem with my parents. My dad was a big kid until the day he died. He was always up to somethng and loved sharing. When my mom got older she was too anxious to do much.
