Photo Monday - Doors There are actually 2 front doors to my current residence. We seldom use the sliding one and the porch is small. That is why my "sit and read" chair is in front of it. True to my nature I have "adornments" at both doors. The sliding one has a stained glass Star of David and Pentagram hanging over it to indicate the spiritual identities of the household (Jewish and Pagan). They also help deter religious groups who knock on doors. To the left is a holder with 3 small crystals. It is my tradition to place crystals at all entrances to absorb negative energy before it enters. The front door is usually open if we are home thus the need for a good screen door. Above the doorbell is the symbol for protection. On the ground at the right are 3 pedestals with large crystals on them, again to absorb negative energy and keep it out of the house. Barely visible in the center of the pedestals is a carved wooden box. It contains rue. Placing rue at an entrance is an old Italian tradition, again for household protection. Does any of this work? Who knows. To me they work like any other symbol - a means to remind us to focus energy and intentions. They / I seem to be effective whatever the reason. I have never had any negative energies or people in the house since I have been here. My main objective though is to decorate with meaningful rather than random things. Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Nice looking doorway, Do I see your reflection in the glass partition? Is that you taking the shot? I like the rug too. Alfie...

Thanks for the info, Spirit. More than the doors, I like your red chair and the rug, and that pitcher on the round table.

Your descriptions of things are very interesting to me. I am also passionate about paranormal. I put salt and water in a glass of water and I hide in some palce near the door entrance of our house, I think it works when a person come to your house and she is negative, the water will absorb the salt. Lol.. "The only way to have a friend is to be one."

I never thought about the rug. I used to have it in my kitchen area when I lived, in in my rv. I brought it here so I could enjoy it instead of leaving it where no one saw it. Spiritwoman ^i^

Hi sw, Thanks for the photo and explanation. The Chinese have their ways of protection too. We usually hang a mirror above a door or a trident in the front of the house. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past

Thank you. I have been able to make it a very comfortable, peaceful place. I was fortunate becasue when I came her this place was absolutely devoid of energy so I did not have to remove any unpleasant stuff. Spiritwoman ^i^

We each use the symbolism that has meaning for us. I know several people here who have Buddhas although not all have them for spiritual meaning. Seems they are popular in eastern decor. Spiritwoman ^i^
