Photo Monday - Landscape

Sharing my canyon landscape.

the first one was taken from the top of the mountain just before descending into the canyon. Not really much of a mountain by our standards here but definitely considered one in many other areas.

The second is at the bottom of the canyon, just after descent. You can see the other side (mountains in the background) and orange orchard in the foreground. Notice the snow on the top of the mountains.

These were taken in the winter. The orchard looks much the same but the hills are all brown and tan (dry)

Two very good shots, I especially like the one taken from the top of the mountain. It displays the area in all it's beauty. Thanks for posting.

That's the place I would like to live, peace and full of nature!

Nice shots Spirit!

Hi Spirit!
I love outdoors, and enjoy all type of landscapes. But I don't like when all is dry because of the lack of rain.

We have a variety of wild flowers here. They bloom in what you call winter.

Same problem here. No rain last winter so everything you see in these photos is brown and dry. We will likely have major wild fires in the ext few months.

Yes - oranges. This variety has fruit year round. We have many orchards of these and avocado in our immediate area. Smaller things like strawberries and broccoli, celery etc. are in fields on the plane closer to the coast. No critters but it is a vegetarian's paradise

I like these. The texture of the hills is appealing.
Many different textures here. They change during the wet and dry seasons. Unfortunately this year was one big dry season.

We do have variety here. 30 minutes from this photo and you are at the beach. about an hour and you are in downtown LA (yuck - don't go there unless I have to).

As my dad used to say - a bit closer to heaven. When I first moved out here to the canyon I used to pop in a John Denver CD as soon as I came through this pass.

They were definitely mountains when I lived in MA as well. My dad's Midwest family used to go crazy over them when they visited.

Beautiful country for sure, but man I hate snakes, especially poisonous ones.

That is why I live out here. The park is a busy little bee hive but it sits our here in the middle of this.

It is very blue during the cooler months and when we have the east winds to clear everything. Hard to believe we are only about 70 miles from LA but we are "up wind".

Surprisingly not too many out here but up at the lake is another story. One of the reasons we are politically incorrect enough to have guns.

It does inspire song for me - but more John Denver. I have been through the Apls and nothing can quite match them.

Great shots, sw. I especially like the mountain top pic with the wild flowers.
